Sorry you did not recognize my post on MSNBC as sarcasms.
I am more than ticked off at the actions of the Notre Dame.
My heart breaks that they are using a university with the Blessed Mother name in it to promote and honor Obama.
Arrayed against the thousand or two or three thousand who give tens of thousands of dollars each, the 75,000, I'm sorry to say, come across as chumps who make a lot of noise but can be brushed aside. Notre Dame operates at the elite level, with the big boys. And most of the big boys are anti-life, pro-contraception, pro-abortion.
Now, Notre Dame also, more than perhaps any other "Catholic" university, has an incredibly loyal body of alumni. And many of them are strongly pro-life. If enough of them say, this is the last straw, it really might affect things. The mass petition is great and I hope it garners 7.5 million signatures. But the petition will really count is that of mid-range alumni donors. The leaders of alumni clubs could play a crucial role if they got organized against this. But do enough of them care? Perhaps? I don't know. Parents could play a big role if they got organized. Students ditto. But what percentage of each of these groups really opposes the TOTUS being crowned at at Our Lady's University? I will be very surprised if it even approaches a third of these constituencies. If it did, if it approached half, that might really send a message.
I hope the petition garners 75 million signatures.
80,000 now have signed the petition according to Hannity right now.
Looks like the fans of life are winning one for the Gipper!

Wonderful. I hope it garners 750 million signatures. 80,000 is great. I mean that sincerely. But you really have to get a sense of who the movers and shakers are that fund a university like ND. There’s an inverse relationship between the amount of money given and the degree of faithful Catholicism, especially since the faithful Catholic donors with big bucks long ago switched to supporting the start-ups. Without them having done that, we’d have no Thomas Aquinas College or Christendom (even though many of the startups are subsisting disproportionately on tuition income, still, even the poorest of them could not exist without donors, without at least a few big donors).
Checked the site and the number signing the petition is
101,384
I’d love to view the names of the people signing the petition. Where can one access it? Does anyone know?
Better just to go all out and call Obama infanticidal because that’s what he is.
What has happened to the Petition at Notre Dame? It seems to have disappeared???

(Whistling... to fend off surging feelings of wrath: a splendid drug in small doses, but I try my best to keep it in reserve an a special asbestos-lined compartment near the bottom of my spine. To be accessible when needed...)
