Obama Years Ago Helped Fund Carbon Program He Is Now Pushing Through Congress(Follow the $$)

In 2000 and 2001, while Barack Obama served as a board member for a Chicago-based charitable foundation, he helped to fund a pioneering carbon trading exchange that is likely to fill a critical role in the controversial cap-and-trade carbon reduction scheme that President Obama is now trying to push rapidly through Congress.

During those two years, the Joyce Foundation gave nearly $1.1 million in two separate grants that were instrumental in developing and launching the privately-owned Chicago Climate Exchange, which now calls itself "North America's only cap and trade system for all six greenhouse gases, with global affiliates and projects worldwide."

One of those gases is carbon dioxide, the most ubiquitous greenhouse gas and the focus of the most far-reaching -- and contentious -- efforts to combat "climate change." On Monday, Obama's Environmental Protection Agency declared carbon dioxide a public health threat.

After his impeachment we have at least seen a precedent (thanks to you, dhimmicrat congregation of fools) for the govt to reclaim all of his ill-gotten monies - which will mean that the loon will be penniless.

Good find.

I have always thought there was a financial benefit in Cap and Trade for some Chicago-style "businesses".

Now we need someone to find who is going to benefit from the money going to revamp health care.

If you Americans want some encouraging reading on Canada's predicament with honoring its Kyoto greenhouse gas emissions committment, this is it.

The Kyoto agreement was to be enforced in 2012, where Canada agreed to reduce by 6% its greenhouse gases from our 1990 levels. Today, our emissions have actually gone up by 30%. Projections are that we will exceed our committments by over 950 Mt (Mega tons) even at 2010, let alone what would happen by 2012. The penalty payments are approx $15 per ton, or a whopping $14 Billion CDN by 2010. Since this monstrous figure is taxed back to the polluters, so the government can honour its international committments, the effect on Canadian business will be crippling.

I can't imagine what your penalties will be, if you don't have someone smart, like George Bush, who kept you out of this nightmare we Canadians now find ourselves

Read all the Canadian reports here (All the really good stuff is cleverly hidden in the Appendices, by the way)

Talk about making money out of thin air!
