The Obama administration wants to crack down on the sale of assault weapons that are arming Mexican drug cartels, [
presently legal for U.S. citizens to purchase via the U.S. Constitution] Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in an interview with NBC television. Let's be honest Hitlery.

And how exactly again do they get to decide that some problem in Mexico is best solved by curtailing my God-given civil rights?
Keep in mind that these stories about the "gun running" and Cartels ravaging Mexico is just a "distraction" for the average uninformed American.
The battle is already going on many fronts, don't get focused in on one front, such as Mexico. Instead try to keep an eye on small anti-2A actions... a lot of small anti-2a legislation can roll into one big defacto gun ban down the line through precedent

lol...right, our streets were completely free of "assualt" weapons during that 10-year period.
that's right, no "assault weapons" were made or purchased that time. feel free to ignore that AWB legal, manufactured and purchased during the 94-04 ban, AR-15 sitting in my safe..

The street!? Heck no! That could scratch the finish.

Those same weapons were “donated” by the US government to help fight the drug war. Release of those serial numbers would also implicate the US Government.

Hellery is a liar. No surprise there.
"I think these assault weapons, these military style weapons, don't belong on anyone's street," said Clinton who pushed for the ban as a New York senator. "During the time period from 1994 to 2004, when the ban was in effect, our police in America were able to drive crime down because they didn't have to worry about these assault weapons getting into the hands of criminals and gang members," the chief US diplomat said.

A cop would have to be a complete imbecile, to think that after any type of weapons ban were inacted, he were automatically saferNot true, the ss/police would have been much safer in the Warsaw ghetto if there had been an effective total ban on firearms there. Likewise they would have taken far more casualties if the ghetto inhabitants were better armed.

Its really hard for me to feel sorry for the poor little mexican police when for decades they have turned a blind eye to drug smugglers while taking payoffs and bribes.
Of course the stupid Americans will swallow this swill greedily and too many will support a renewed AWB. Glad I bought mine and had some fun with it before it fell out of my boat.

If assault weapon bans are so effective, then why doesn't Mexico pass one and solve the problem?

“The Mexicans can import full auto AK47 rifles made by Norinco by the pallet load for about $50 per rifle. Why would they spend $400 to $1200 for a semi-auto rifle (and wait months for delivery) from a U.S. gun shop?”
Good point.
And what about all those AK-47’s that Yugo Chavez supposedly bought for the Venezuelan army? Ending up in Mehico?

Why would they spend $400 to $1200 for a semi-auto rifle (and wait months for delivery) from a U.S. gun shop?Logical sensible question, but it isn't about logic or common sense, it's about any BS rhetoric that can be taken by the anti-gunners' lickspittle accomplices in the media and keep the drumbeat going. This isn't about logic it's about gathering all of the power into the hands of the government, and as Mao said "power grows like a flower out of the barrel of a gun." They want all of those flowers growing under the control of their JBTs.
