For that to work the teachers themselves must know how to think. And if they did, they wouldn't be teaching the ... 'garbage' they teach.

Actually, there is an "indoctrinator" at the school in which I teach who presents this movie to her class as fact. In response to this outrage (since the administration apparently approves of this "curriculum"), I have now implemented a research unit in my English class whereby students are to research BOTH sides of the global warming debate and present the facts versus the fiction of the phenomenon. Many of the students do not find that the information is enough to change their minds on the subject (too brainwashed to help), while several DO see the light and have actually begun to CHALLENGE this other teacher on the movie's claims.

I am doing all I can to affect change without indoctrinating the students myself. When many of them learn that there exist two sides to the debate, they look puzzled and I feel as though I have done my small part to make them more objective thinkers...
