They've also lost guys like me. I've been voting almost straight line Republican since I became eligible to vote in 1973.
I'm voting conservative, if the Republicans want to run conservatives I'll happily vote for them, but no more rinos or moderates.
Living in Minnesota, so far only my local state Rep and Senator fill the bill.
So, criticism, disagreement, or discussion about the future is no longer tolerated in Steele's GOP?
Is this the equivalent of McCain's "Shut up and take it"?
Why doesn't he just say
"All mindless sheep who will vote as they are told are welcome--everyone else, get lost"
His job is to shut his mouth, work quietly on healing divisions.....AND DON'T AIR ALL THE DIRTY LAUNDRY IN PUBLIC!
The enemy is the Obama mafia, NOT Republicans and conservatives who may be (rightfully) complaining, you moron.
Steele has no finesse. A chairman's job needs finesse. The clumsy-looking, mindless, charging rhino at the top of the thread is an adequate representation of what we're stuck with.

Once you do the items above, I'll contribute again.
My advise to Steele is to quit attacking Republicans and start attacking the enemy. It is okay to withhold campaign funds from Senate and House RINOs who embarrass the Republican Party, but save the verbal attacks for Democrats. We are in a good position to win in 2010 and 2012, if only we don’t waste time trying to liberalize conservatism, and instead, spend our time demonstrating the failures of liberalism.
We got that Potomac fever, and we lost our minds.
I interpret that to mean that the majority of R’s in DC became big tax and spenders, and if I am correct, I agree with Steele on this.
Actually, he seems to be doing the whining and complaining.
He’s the supposed leader. Whats his plan? What’s his philosophy? If he’s going to work behind the scenes, then stay out of the news. If he’s going to work the press, then start promoting our cause and our philosophy.
So far he’s doing neither.
Speaking of ‘tired’ Mr. Steele, I am beyond tired of Republican leaders not addressing voter fraud as in ACORN. Either we find some Republican senators or congress persons to start the ball rolling for legislation mandating voter ID in national elections or we can concede 2010 and 2012 to the tratiorist socialist democrat party which now controls this Republic. First things first Mr. Steele. Being tired is not an option for any Republican. Make my vote secure and then I will listen to what you have to say.
Mr Steele, lead, follow, or get the Hell out of the way.
Hey, Mikey, if you don’t like our complaints try addressing them! You want us to support you, while you cut our throats, it just won’t happen!
Well, let’s see what the Democrats did to get from their out-of-power low in 2002 to their dominating control today:
1) Demonized the president, subjecting him to constant ridicule.
2) Obstructed all measures put forth by the Republicans, including judgeships.
3) Acted treasonously with regard to our military.
4) Found a pretty boy with no record to make vacuous promises of “hope” and “change” which the compliant media refused to investigate or challenge.
I just don’t think the GOP could follow that example even if they wanted to.

Exactly! Dems will pass whatever laws they want if they know they can “win” any election with the help of ACORN and the like. I wouldn’t be surprised if vote fraud is as high as 10 percent in many areas....
Steele’s GOP duties should be restricted to making Meghan McCain’s daily McDonald’s run.....

I’ve heard him say the right things a number of times. Then he does an interview and ends up sounding like Jimmuh Cotter.
I don’t think his conservative values come from his core. They are just a part he plays.
Don’t know if you had the chance to read the whole GQ interview. I finally did a week or so ago-and Steele went from “wanker” to “turbocharged gold plated mega-wanker” in my estimation. Here it is:
