IMHO --- No, I think you are on the wrong track. The motive here is to take down the achievers and fast learners, ending up with an overall low level of learning. We now have 50% of adults that don't know the earth revolves around the sun in a year. Their goal -- We can go lower.

Does anyone else smell a Bill Ayers in this pot of education crap? It sure stinks like it has one of these turds floating in the soup.

Dumbing down the masses. What number is that on the Communist check list?

I don’t really think the end goal of the average teacher is to dumb down children. I DO think forced curriculum outside of parental control DOES tend to have that effect - especially when the hidden agenda is to produce cohorts ignorant of their national origins and freedoms. Teaachers, in general, want their students to succeed. However, the direction of modern education is to produce ‘world citizens’ fitted for the economic needs of the world government - not patriots of liberty-loving, self-motivated individuals.

50 percent? You are way off. I am willing to bet that 90 percent of people don’t know. I saw a little clip in one of my classes where they interviewed Harvard grads and only 1 out of 10 got it right.

And, honestly, to be fair, I think a lot of people learned it but have forgotten b/c it matters so little in one’s daily life. As my one friend said to me, “Who cares?”
