Carthage, N.C. — A gunman walked into a Moore County nursing home Sunday morning, fatally shooting six people and injuring three others, including a police officer, police said.
The shooting happened around 10 a.m. at Pinelake Health and Rehab Center, 801 Pinehurst Ave., a 90-bed rehabilitation, nursing and Alzheimer’s care facility in Carthage.
The injured, as well as the alleged shooter, who was also injured, were taken to Moore Regional Hospital, Carthage Police Chief Chris McKenzie said.
He did not offer a motive for the crime or say what the suspect’s relationship to the facility might be.
The police officer, who was the first to arrive at the scene, was listed in good condition, McKenzie said. But he was unsure of the extent of the injuries to the surviving victims.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including Carthage Police Department, Moore County Sheriff’s Office and State Bureau Investigation, are investigating, and authorities have not released any other details.

Numerous calls to the nursing home were not answered.
I should think they could at least say whether the people who were killed were patients or staff. I can understand not releasing names until next of kin are notified, but it seems as if facts don’t matter any more.

Whenever there is a shooting like this, the Government, egged on by the American Media Monolith, always tries to take the guns away from everyone who DIDN’T do it!
Appears to by another tiny town rural town. The last one two weeks ago, was in the sleepy rural town of Samson, Alabama which killed 10 and wounded others.
update at WRAL.com says the police chief believes those killed were all patients...not confirmed though I guess..
