AUSTRALIAN pro-euthanasia campaigner Dr Philip Nitschke plans to launch testing kits for people to check the strength of drugs they have bought to commit suicide in the UK.
Quoting Deliverance, the newsletter of Dr Nitschke's organisation, Exit International, The Observer said the kits, which have chemicals that change colour when mixed with lethal barbiturates, would be released in May.
The launch coincided with Dr Nitschke's planned tour of Britain, and the kits would be available for about STG35 ($72).
"We decided to launch in the UK because of its enlightened attitude; many of the things we can do in the UK are banned in Australia,'' the paper quoted Nitschke as saying.

Typical bad headline. The kits he’s selling don’t contain lethal drugs.

It just needs a clever marketing name. How about Cyclone?

The title doesn’t say the kit contains lethal drugs.

"Enlightened" attitude? What arrogance.

A reasonable person would not assume that a “lethal drug kit” is a kit containing lethal drugs?

"Assume?" I don't know.
The fact remains, the title doesnt say the kit contains lethal drugs.

An early novel by Gore Vidal is entitled “Messiah.” It’s about a Scientology-like suicide-cult started by a guy named John Cave and appropriately named after him: “Cave’s Way.” The novel is told from the point of view of a narrator, who has to hide in the Islamic world in order to escape the suicide-cult — Islam being so reactionary and intolerant of other religions or philosophies, that it offers him some protection.
We seem to be entering this sort of world, except that “socialism” replaces “Cave’s Way.”
We’re entering a world in which we will have “socialism”, “Islam,” and a way out of both: suicide.

I disagree. Think whatever you like. Not worth further discussion.

My New Speak to reality dictionary translates “enlightened attitude” to mean evil. Pure evil.

I sure came to the thread thinking a new “death pack” was being touted.
I guess we all read from our own learning experience.
