Ann Coulter bushwacked on radio by conservative Christian abortion foes

By WENDY NORRIS 3/30/09 9:08 AM

Ultra-conservative Christian talk-radio hosts are taking a new approach to get their message out — ambushing right-wing pundit Ann Coulter for supporting 2008 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Absolutist anti-abortion activists accuse Romney of being “willing to sacrifice children for your vote.”

The Denver-based American Right to Life Action (RTL) leads the charge against Coulter with a YouTube video that shows excerpts of Coulter’s on-air radio freak-outs and calls on the acid-tongued author to apologize and retract her support for Romney.

Give it a rest. That you refuse to acknowledge he stopped a much more Socialist Democrat plan, proves you’re just another propagandist or are too brainwashed to give him some credit. He pushed the Democrats back. He did what he could do. That will never be enough for you and the malcontents so he shouldn’t have bothered.

A veto would have stopped any plan.

Mitt Romney has always opposed same-sex marriage.

Wrong:

Romney Rewards one of the State's Leading Anti-Marriage Attorneys by Making him a Judge

* Romney told the U.S. Senate on June 22, 2004, that the "real threat to the States is not the constitutional amendment process, in which the states participate, but activist judges who disregard the law and redefine marriage . . ." Romney sounds tough but yet he had no qualms advancing the legal career of one of the leading anti-marriage attorneys. He nominated Stephen Abany to a District Court. Abany has been a key player in the Massachusetts Lesbian and Gay Bar Association which, in its own words, is "dedicated to ensuring that the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision on marriage equality is upheld, and that any anti-gay amendment or legislation is defeated."

# Stephen Abany testified at the State House in 1999 advocating a bill to repeal the sodomy laws in Massachusetts. This type of activism obviously did not bother Romney.

- Lawyers' Weekly 2/14/2000

Romney refused to endorse the original 2002 Mass. constitutional amendment absolutely defining marriage as one man and one women

* In 2002, before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court declared same-sex marriage protected by the Constitution, Romney denounced as "too extreme" the effort by pro-family groups to enact a preemptive state Marriage Protection Amendment prohibiting homosexual marriage, civil unions and same-sex public employee benefits.

- Boston Phoenix, May 14-20, 2004

Romney unnecessarily (and unconstitutionally) implemented homosexual marriages in Massachusetts

* After the Massachusetts Supreme Court ruling that same-sex "marriages" were protected by the Massachusetts Constitution, Romney (1) issued altered marriage licenses and (2) ordered town clerks to issue the licenses and Justices of the Peace to perform same-sex marriages when requested, or be fired. However, he did not have to do this, and there is strong evidence that this was illegal. The Court ruling simply advised the Legislature to pass legislation codifying its opinion on changing the marriage statutes. Romney was NOT bound to enforce same-sex marriages prior to legislative action. Yet Romney jumped the gun and needlessly advanced the homosexual agenda by granting the marriage rights without a fight. Furthermore, Romney still has the authority to reverse his actions via Executive Order before his term is out.

In 2002, Romney responded to the National Abortion Rights Action League's candidate survey: ''I respect and will protect a woman's right to choose. This choice is a deeply personal one. Women should be free to choose based on their own beliefs, not mine and not the government's. The truth is, no candidate in the governor's race in either party would deny women abortion rights." Notably, Romney refused to answer the candidate questionnaire sent to him by Massachusetts Citizens for Life.

Romney is willing to support some embryonic stem cell research

* "Romney has decided to support experimentation on surplus frozen embryos from in-vitro fertilization procedures."

- National Review Online 2/11/2005

Romney Approves of Abortion Pill and Supports the Legalization of RU-486

* "When he ran for governor in 2002, Romney said he supported expanding access to the emergency contraception pill, a high dose of hormones that women can take to prevent pregnancy up to five days after sex . . . On a questionnaire Planned Parenthood gave to the gubernatorial candidates in 2002, Romney answered 'yes' to the question, 'Do you support efforts to increase access to emergency con-traception?' "

Romney signs "Right to Privacy" Proclamation celebrating birth control availability

* In March, 2005, Romney signed an annual proclamation establishing a ''Right to Privacy Day" to mark the anniversary of Baird v. Eisenstadt, a 1972 Supreme Court ruling legalizing birth control for unmarried people. Interestingly, Romney's staff deleted references to Roe v. Wade from the previous year's proclamation.

Dear Heartland Mom, you say McCain is pro-life? Where did you get that from? His campaign rhetoric? Check out the prolife profile of McCain at AmericanRTL.org. By his own ‘position’ and votes, McCain funded the killing of 300,000 kids by surgical abortion. What? Is ‘our’ mass-murderer better than theirs? He gladly has given $100s of millions to abortionists. He authorizes funding to kill the tiniest kids in lethal research. He rejects human life amendments. And during the RNC, his wife Cindy told CBS that John McCain DOES NOT WANT Roe v. Wade overturned. Pro-life? Huh? Really. Check out AmericanRTL.org and click on McCain.
