Maybe because they expect to get the steel orders for every carrier we have to replace?

Why? Because foreign ownership is a fragile thing. A U.S. administration and Congress willing to trigger massive inflation and collapse the dollar against other currencies could simply expropriate foreign owned businesses and default on Treasury obligations to non-U.S. citizens (or non-U.S. residents).

I think the one danger is that China decides to take Taiwan by force. Do you really think Obama is going to launch nukes over Taiwan? He needs Chinese money to pay for his glorious "investments."
