TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Police say a 19-year-old who tried to rob a liquor store sat down and cried after 76-year-old owner locked him in the store. The man was accused of trying to rob Sykes Liquor Store in Trenton Monday night. Police said the owner, who was behind the counter, triggered the lock after the man grabbed a bottle of Hennessy cognac and bolted for the door.

The man then allegedly pulled out a handgun and demanded to be released. But the owner said he saw that the gun was a fake, refused to unlock the door and called police.

Police said the suspect threw away the gun, slumped to the floor and was crying when officers arrived to arrest him.

Somehow, I don’t think he’s going to do very well in jail.

Just like baseball, there is no crying in robbery.

He should have at least cracked the bottle opened and started drinking as he waited for the cops to come.

God, show some class....

Somehow I think this was a very distraught young man who saw this as an only option for survival. FAKE gun? Tears?
That is desperation.

He’d just be in more trouble if he started drinking. Do you know that an 18-year-old can’t even buy cigarettes in NJ? You have to be 19. New Jersey is the original nanny state.

That is desperation.

Sometimes at that age, you feel like you can't even f**k up right.

I don't know about you, but Hennessy is not crucial to my survival.

Maker's Mark bourbon, on the other hand...

. . . who saw this as an only option for survival.

Huh? Since when is survival a matter of a bottle of cognac?

Like they say “When they’re about to run you out of town, might as well grab a baton and make it look like you’re leading the parade”.

The Amish are tough. Even the kids are trained from birth to be tough and not to cry.

I took a 4 year old girl with a badly broken arm...fell off teeter-totter...to the hospital, both bones broken. Never a whimper.

A buggy turned over in the street spilling battery acid on a small girl. She toughed it out. She started to cry, but didn't.

Liberal pinko commies that voted for the current POTUS are the cry babies.
