A Month in the Life of George W Bush (news and photos): April 2009

As we enter April 2009 we are being bombarded by the media hyping up the first 100 days of President Obama I thought it would be nice to look back at the first 100 days of George W Bush Presidency.

The White House Website for the Bush Administration had a photo essay for the first 100 days which I am sure will provoke fond memories.

At the weekend I will post photos covering the first 2 weeks of April 2001 which once again I am sure will make us all feel nostalgic for the President we supported, respected and trusted to keep us safe for the last 8 years. Later this month I will post photos from the second half of Aril 2001 plus a selection of other photos that I am sure will be breath of fresh air and produce fond memories.

First of all before the photos I will post the text of remarks that George W Bush made at a Congressional Luncheon marking the first 100 days of the Bush Adminstration - ah those were the days.

I will also post some photos I have found of the Bush family for March 2009 including some of the former First Lady.

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

In some ways someone has to feel sorry for someone who feels they need to post something like that they must lead a very sad lonely life.

I am sure will make us all feel nostalgic for the President we supported, respected and trusted to keep us safe for the last 8 years.

Years from now Obama and Bush die of old age only a second apart.

They arrive at the Pearly Gates. Obama died only one second before W so he is ahead in line.

St. Peter says to Obama, “Here are your robes of silk and your staff of gold. Welcome to Heaven”.

W steps up next. St. Peter says to Bush, “Here are your robes of cotton and your staff of wood. Welcome to Heaven”.

George asks, “St. Peter, he gets silk and gold? And I get cotton and wood?”

St. Peter says, “George, while you were President, the people slept. While Obama was President the people prayed. The Lord rewards results.”

He is very well spoken. I have some of his books. The man gets his point across well.

<I cringe when I see Michelle Obama she seems so awkward clumsy and just so in your face compared to the grace and elegance of Laura Bush.

No kidding. I haven’t post here for a bit, maybe because I’m still sad over the election. It’s hard to look at the pictures and think how far we’ve fallen as a country. Of course, I wish the GOP had won, but that’s not the entirety of it. Zero is just sooo bad for the country; we are heading into socialism. By the next election, I fear that we will be so far down that path, it will be next to impossible to turn back.

Yes indeed. I had my differences with GWB, but he was a decent honorable man and I miss him and the First Lady very much.

It has been a damn shame the way the Left and the media treated this man.

Why can the woman not stop wearing pale frosted lipstick (which I believe went out in about 1972) that makes her lips look lavender? And why can she not walk and sit with her legs together? She walks as if she had a wet diaper in place. You could pass a truck tire between her legs as she walks.

Honestly, dressed and made up appropriately she’d be a very attractive woman.

I could not believe that gift it seems that zero is really out to offend my country. I may not agree with my PM and some of the things that the Royal family get up to but as a Brit I do not like them insulted.

I distrust and worry about the Obama administration but I still respect the office of President which sadly the current administration seems intent on cheapening and making look foolish and childish in what they see as hip presents for foreign leaders and heads of state. Another another reflection of modern society.

Also Obama did not show correct protocol in how he shook the Queen's hand he used a double handed hand shake. Where are his advisers asleep or is this administration deliberately ignoring protocol, etique and traditions of other countries.

How I yearn for the civility and adult behaviour of the Bush Administration.

Well certainly the more right wing papers have been very vocal on the awful gifts given and more importantly the fact that we did not have a formal press conference with the flags etc at the White House.

Gordon Brown is fiercely proud of the Union Flag and insists it is flown 24/7 on all government buildings including 10 Downing Street. The Obama handlers would have been aware of this so this snub to me was a deliberate and to show Britain that the Obama administration view themselves as masters not partners with Britain.

As I said some people have no manners and just want to hurt others a sad reflection on them and modern society.
