If Texas ever divides into five states, as it can under the terms of statehood, I would opt for the state of North Texas, the most conservative part of the state.
Would Athens be considered in the North?
We will never break up the Republic Of Texas. If anything, we'll take back eastern Colorado & New Mexico back to the Rio Grande.
We must never, ever divide because if we do, all five states would be fairly powerless. Texas, as it is today, is perfectly capable of supporting itself and has a wealth of natural resources: shoreline and ports (Houston), oil (throughout the state) and refineries (Beaumont and Houston), cattle (all parts of Texas) and stockyards (Ft. Worth), agriculture (East & Central Texas), a steel mill (Lone Star Steel in East Texas), business and financial center (Dallas/Ft. Worth), international airport (DFW), we have our own electrical grid, plus windfarms in West Texas. This is just what I can think of off the top of my head.
Can you imagine Texas being free from US oil restrictions? It would be “Drill Here, Refine Here All the Time!” We could sell our oil to the foreigners in Washington, DC!
The Republic of Texas must never be divided!
