Romney's flipping does not bother you? It does bother me, as does the prospect of tens of millions of new leftist voters.

Link: Romney believes that one way to attract more minorities to the GOP is to pass immigration reform before the next election, saying the issue becomes demagogued by both parties on the campaign trail.

EVERY candidate in the race, proposed immigration reform, including Fred Thompson and Sarah Palin. Romney was one of the smart ones who, like Tom Tancredo, insisted that any reform not include the Z-visa which rewards illegal behavior.

Mitt is right, Hispanics and Asians should be flocking to our party's ideals of family values, protection of life and individual freedom. By not resolving this issue in the most conservative fashion possible, we allow the liberals to use it against us. Meanwhile we fail to enlist the socially conservative Hispanics and Asians who should be Republicans.

There is a way to reform the immigration mess in a sensible and conservative fashion. Why aren't we doing it?

Immigration is demagogued. I’d have to see what Romney proposed before I could tell you whether I thought it was rational or not. At some point last year, he managed to get some support from the anti-illegal-immigrant anti-amnesty crowd. But he certainly wasn’t the best candidate on that issue.
