Obama Forcing Pro-Life Physicians to Perform Abortions?
The Andrea Shea King Show ^ | April 2, 2009 | Andrea Shea King

Posted on 04/02/2009 12:07:19 PM PDT by patriotgal1787

Tonight at 9 pm ET on The Andrea Shea King Show, we'll talk with a pro-life ob-gyn who says Obama intends to force physicians to perform abortions.

The Obama Administration is quietly moving to test Catholic institutions with plans to rescind the US Department of Health and Human Service’s Conscience regulation – a regulation that protects healthcare workers against pressure or intimidation to perform medical procedures that go against their conscience such as abortion or euthanasia.

“The Notre Dame debate surrounding President Obama’s invitation to deliver the commencement address is only the tip of the iceberg for those in the Catholic faith," says Dr. Joe DeCook, retired Ob-Gyn and vice president of AAPLOG, the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

"The administration’s new efforts to overturn the HHS regulation could mandate practices such as abortion or shut down many of the 557 Catholic hospitals around the country that treat millions of US hospital patients.

“Revoking the regulation is the first step in removing a doctor of his or her rights to make a decision based on conscience and as a result placing that decision in the hands of the government. This issue will not only effect faith-based institutions, but could cause a dire situation for the entire medical profession.”

The Obama administration has opened the HHS regulation – also known as “conscience clause” – for public comment until April 9, 2009.

Join Dr. Joe DeCook and me tonight at 9 ET. Link to the program here.

How about doing a procedure where the doctor thinks the risks outweigh the benefits? As in ver 99% of cases carying a pregnancy to term is far safer then having an abortion.

A mistake is considered an error in math. A baby is not a mistake.

I don't understand why Notre Dame wants to invite Obama to give their commencement speech. Do they want to see Catholic doctors forced to perform abortions and Catholic hospitals shut down?

A baby is a punishment according to Obama.

That would make this Administration accessory to the crime of murder.

And I’ll predict that if you presented this to an avg 0bama supporter, they’d simply deny that it’s true.

They’ve fallen under Satan’s siren song of “social justice”.

Heck, since Obama (and every baby-murdering Democrat) has promised that abortion will be rare, what’s to worry about? /sarc

Zero makes me ill.

Catholic hospitals and medical services should simply shut down ALL OBGYN and maternity.

I agree. The church and Catholics must defy Obama. If a test is what Hussein wants, give it to him. He has a glass jaw.

Exactly. Catholic Obama supporters want it both ways. They voted for Obama for non religious reasons but failed or refused to consider the darker side of Hussein. Actually, I’m glad for this showdown. It’s time to separate Catholics from the make believers.

I agree.

I think the best way to resist this evil is, well, to resist it - by absolutely defying it.

We should add: So-called Christians, too.

I’m glad for the showdown, too.

I remember Mother Teresa spoke on the evils of abortion at a National Prayer Breakfast and made the Clintons literally squirm in their chairs.

HHS Comment Page for This Regulation

Click on "Send a Comment" to submit your comments.

I hope the link doesn't "time out", I found it in a search. If so, the website is Regulations.gov and then do a search for "Conscience", then choose "HHS" for the agency and it should take you to the page linked above.

Let's turn their trial balloon a lead one!
