NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A former Navy sailor convicted of leaking details about ship movements and the best ways to attack them was sentenced Friday to the maximum 10 years in prison.

I simply don't understand how 10 years in prison sends a harsh message to those who would facilitate terrorism. Taking the guy out and shooting him on the spot? Now THAT would be sending a harsh message.

The US Navy let a guy named “Jihaad” enlist?

I'm thinking that Profiling would be a good approach to weed out undesirables.

BamBam is in charge now, so giving this sob three square meals a day and a roof over his head is still too harsh for President Zero and his ilk.

Which country would that be?

If people think that others don’t know about our ships movements, they are fooling themselves. Back when I was in the Navy and I wanted to know where our ship was going next, which I already knew, all I had to do was go to a bar in Hong Kong. The girls in the bar knew about our movements before we even entered their ports.

Agree with you completely. Take the SOB out and waste him. That would send the proper message to the terrorists.

"What do our “presentdent” and many member of congress get for treason?"

Probably at least $200,000 directly, plus more in campaign contributions.

What about the members of the Royal 100 Club who helped kill Americans in IRAQ and Vietnam when they supported the enemies and let the enemies know secret plans and other work???????

Best laugh of a rainy day. 1955..moored in Yokasuka, Japan.
Having my XXXth drink when a bar girl tells me my ship is leaving on a particular day, which had been in doubt. I asked how she could know what I didn’t know and was on that ship. We couldn’t leave until our relief showed up and we didn’t know when that was.
Easy, her brother-in-law was a hand on one of the yard tugs that had gotten the following weeks schedule of ship arrivals and departures, ships they would assist.
It wasn’t rocket science or real spying, with civilians doing a lot of the work in THEIR country.
