BONNEVILLE, Wash. -- Under order of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration-Fisheries, the trapping project at Bonneville Dam continues, with four more sea lions getting euthanized.

The program of trapping and removal of sea lions has started below Bonneville Dam. Last year the program was halted by the enviro wackos after a sea lion was found dead in one of the traps. Cries went out that the animal had been shot by someone (some redneck fisherman no doubt /s). The enviros shut the program down for the year after they shrieked to the courts. Surprise - the sea lion had not been shot after all, it died from other causes. Endangered salmon and steelhead runs continued to have their bellies ripped open by these fish eating machines for the rest of the year.

One tagged sea lion near the dam weighed in at 556 pounds on March 6, 2007. 77 days later he was weighed in at 1,043 pounds (487 pound weight gain). On another note the sea lions also have a fondness for caviar as they love to eat oversize sturgeon near the dam where they gather to spawn.

Can you imagine the headlines this would generate if Sarah Palin had done this?

“The enviroz have nothing to gripe about.”

They are griping and are unhappy. The court has finally made a good decision and the wackos are screaming like stuck pigs.

Enviro-mental-ists released otters in the Buiffalo River in Tennessee a few years ago. They immediately began to kill every fish they could catch and then went to farmers’ stocked ponds and killed all their fish, and most of the time the otters wouldn’t even eat the fish. Fishermen have taken to carrying a rifle with them and shooting at the otters.

I see otters quite often when I am fishing for trout and steelhead. When they pop up in the run I am fishing I know it is time to move. They are quite cute and unintimidating compared to sea lions.
