SPOKANE, Wash. - Two Washington state girls took their plea straight to President Obama after their dad was laid off from his job.

The two mailed a letter to the president at the White House after watching their father, Henry, struggle to find a new job. Now they're about to lose their home.

It's a simple letter - asking for help.

"My name is Lilian Deck and my sister and I live in Spokane," the girls' letter begins. "We would like to ask you a question - where is the help you promised in your campaign?"

So hows that “hope” and “change” working out for you?

As the Bible says: “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man in whom there is no help.”

Obama has made ordinary kids like these two believe a lie.

Girls, girls.... while you still have a home and furniture. Find a mirror, look into it. Do you see an illegal immigrant? How about a Medicaid Mommy with 4 kids, all different fathers? No? You’re screwed!

Poor, mis-guided children. They never considered 0bama’s campaign was a lie from the start

I hope that anyone in the same situation immediately writes letters to both the president and the papers before Obama uses this family as part of his propaganda machine.

Obama has made ordinary kids like these two believe a lie.

Maybe not Obama who did, but probably the kids' teachers. My first reaction is that the kids' teachers probably should respond to the letter. Maybe they can have a no fat/MSG/sugar/peanut bake sale, or something.

"So far the Decks haven't gotten a response to their letter. "

He WORKED.

When he last worked he made a good salary.

He did not have a Liars' Loan.

Probably a registered Republican. Good luck getting help THERE.

Come, on man. Let’s not be so hard on these girls. There’s a chance their dad didn’t pay taxes for the last couple of years and he’ll get a job in Treasury or some other government position.

Good point. People who have fallen on hard times are out of luck; you have to be one of the protected “victim” class to qualify for any type of assistance.

The dad probably released the letter to the media, so he hasn’t lost the desire . . . .

Who did your father vote for?

Sending resumes isn’t going to get it. You must get off the couch and make that interview happen.

I’m still waiting on a pony.

Not paying your taxes seems to be a good resume addition if you’re looking for a cush government job. He should add that.

This story alludes to a political problem that Obama has to face.

Inner city welfare recipients and other needy people were his greatest supporters.

He promised them both hope and change.

Yet, it will begin to dawn on many of them soon enough that their lives are no better, and indeed worse, under the Obama administration.

Obama will need to explain, and this explaining is his next big challenge.

"He has sent out over 300 resumes with no luck."...Henry Deck lost his job a year ago and on Sunday he'll lose his home to foreclosure.

This idiot sent out less than 1 resume a day for a year?? I guess he needed off Sundays and holidays to rest up. Now he sends out his daughters instead of resumes. Move to where the jobs are dumb@$$.

Like the black lady who said, "We ain't rich like you all, you got to understand, but we're gonna be some time this year cause we got Obama".

Maybe they could make some cash on the side selling dishwasher detergent with phosphates. They could smuggle it in from Idaho. Since Spokane outlawed selling such dishwasher detergent, there’s probably a market for it.

I'm not so sure Obama is going to renege on his promise. I look for him to actually fulfill his promise by making this and many families wards of the federal state (I do believe that's an oxymoron).

He'll do this via massive redistribution of wealth and spending beyond any and all previous perception.

Were a Conservative to have been in office, implementing conservative economic programs (lower corporate taxes & pro-business growth), this family wouldn't even know they'd have benefited from that. Instead, they'll tangibly feel the government assistance instead of the invisible hand of the market.
