Only 25 votes separate Republican Tim Tedisco and Democrat Scott Murphy in the special election for New Yorks 20th district. That means the winner will be determined by 6,000 outstanding absentee ballots.
According to the Department of Justice, 1,300 overseas voters requested absentee ballots, 471 of whom are military voters. Unfortunately, it is the military voters who will probably end up being disenfranchised and having their votes discounted, thanks to the irresponsible New York Board of Elections and the half-hearted actions of the Department of Justice.
The problem for military voters in places like Iraq and Afghanistan is that it takes so long for absentee ballots to make the trip by mail from county election officials in the United States to bases in combat zones overseas and back again. As a result, only a tiny percentage of their votes get counted.

Write a letter to the editor, especially if you live in this district. Tell the two Dems on the Board of Elections that they need to explain themselves.
Tedisco is going to hire lawyers and needs help.

If Steele wants a public chairmanship, he needs to step it up. It's a POLITICAL role! He already missed making a scene about the charter school closings in DC.
Steele needs to realize that he's getting flak from his GOPers because they want a fighter for a change. We've had 8 years of pillow fights from the GOP leadership (while the Dems fight with bricks and brass knuckles) and we're sick of it!!
The RNC’s email address can be located at the bottom/center under the address in black. Please email Mr Steele and DEMAND that he step up to the plate on this one!!!
I heard Tedisco say on Hannity’s show that Steele is helping a lot, but it won’t hurt to contact him anyway.
Today I called a tv station that airs in the 20th district, and told them about this, and maybe others will join me, and contact at least one of the tv stations that airs in their area.
Good job, Thanks for the update.
