What a hilarious article. The New York times at their "finest". The federal, state, and local "enforcement" oversight of a 300 plus protest says a lot about their priorities:

The chief of the Northport Fire Department, which like many on Long Island is bristlingly equipped by compliant taxpayers with enough gear to protect small European principalities, kept watch from his official S.U.V.

The Northport Police directed traffic as a search-and-rescue boat idled over by the marina.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, alerted to the possibility of tea dumping without permits, had sent two armed officers.<[hahaha - the funniest part of this article]

And at the dock, a 41-foot Coast Guard boat from the Eatons Neck Station, with a five-man crew, kept its engines running in case anybody or anything was attacked, scuttled, dunked or sunk.

LOL. Now if that isn't overkill by law enforcement, I don't know what is.

This past Saturday afternoon I went to a local art show/street festival here in Tampa. Aming the displays was a booth selling, or rather, attempting to sell..subscriptions to the NY Times. The guy called out to me..I just laughed at him...

I had a similar thing happen to me. Twice, I was approached at the front door of my local Big Lots here in San Diego, by a SD Union Tribune representative. This gentleman was wearing a suit and tie and was approx 60 yrs old. If I were to guess, I would think he was management hoping to save a business, not a salesman with a cute idea to sell more papers.

He asked me if I was getting the daily newspaper... I told him that I recently canceled the weekEND edition subscription I HAD, because the paper was just too liberal. I don't want to read left leaning propaganda anymore. He nodded, as if to say...lower your voice and please move on.

I smiled...it was just my way of giving back ;-)

Bob Beckel appeared on Fox News yesterday morning to sneer at the nationwide event.

He's getting very defensive about The Zero and his policies, and as a result, is even more insulting than usual.

The NY Times truly does not understand what this is about.

We share common values of fiscal responsibility and respect for free markets and the critical role small business plays in our economy. We believe that Americans know how to spend their own money better than the government does, and taxpayers do not want their money wasted.

“We will not stand idly by while our Government destroys the principles that have allowed this nation to flourish and replaces them with a socialist agenda.

“Tax Day Tea Party Purpose: To peacefully protest a government that is loading unfathomable and incomprehensible amounts of debt on this and future generations in order to fund so-called ‘stimulus’ packages and bailouts and “pork projects” for special interest groups. The amount is so great that it will not be able to repaid without increased taxation. Confiscatory taxation means greater government control over our lives, and a loss of our freedom and liberty. Our protest can only be effective in masses! Join Us.”

The usual left wing tactic of using derision and sarcasm to minimalize conservatives.....

The condescending nature of this entire article is meant to belittle the people who stand up, and keep others, who are more thin-skinned, away from the protest. This arse is taking part in the Obama propaganda machine.

Quick word of advice to him: People who lose their freedom rarely get it back. You are working on the side of those who wish to take away our freedom. You're helping tear down our First Amendment rights. BTW, they're your rights as well. Eventually, your own actions will make you a slave to the government.

If you are only willing to fight for the rights of those who believe as you do, you're not really an American. I despise liberal thought, and I don't have to agree with a word of it, but I'll fight for their right to hold their own beliefs and speak out about them.
