53 victims of gun violence in a month? That’s only 636 per a whole year. How many people are killed in car wrecks? Furthermore, how many of the murderers had long criminal records or were known to be insane?
According to JAMA 2000:
12,000 deaths per year due to unnecessary surgeries
7000 death per year from medical errors in hospitals
20,000 deaths per year due to other errors in hospitals
80,000 deaths per year due to infections from hospitals
106,000 per year due to the negative effects of drugs
Sounds like we need to have Congress look into hospitals and their drugs.
Universal Health care anyone?
