A poster on the Herald web-site said that the conscience clause was like letting police choose which laws they uphold and that they took an oath to be doctors. Actually it’s more like letting lawyers choose which cases they’ll take and the oath they took (if any) contains a prohibition on abortion and euthanasia.
Quite right... As police officers are employed by the government and most doctors are not..
