Protecting Our Victory - Votes Being Counted Tomorrow! (email from Rat campaign)
Scott Murphy campaign | April 7, 2009 | Scott Murphy

Posted on 04/07/2009 10:17:06 AM PDT by reaganaut1

A week after Election Day, I wanted to give you an update on the status of the race. I am still as confident as ever that we will be victorious in this process and win this race.

We got a great court ruling yesterday stating that the counting of absentee ballots must start on Wednesday, as scheduled. It is in the best interest of the people in this district that all the votes be counted fairly and accurately so that they will have a representative in Washington during these tough economic times. The Republicans want to delay this count because they know, as we do, that further counting is likely to mirror the Election Night results.

On top of trying to delay the inevitable counting of votes, Washington Republicans are outrageously attempting to smear us with the lie that we are trying to steal the election and manipulate electoral results. Their stalling tactics follow an outrageous campaign to challenge the outcome before voters even cast their ballots, in which they filed a lawsuit on Election Day morning to declare Jim Tedisco the winner. It's a chapter in their playbook: if you're afraid of what the voters might do, go to court first. The people of the 20th district deserve to have their votes counted fairly and as soon as possible so they can get someone in Congress fighting for them.

These efforts are costly, but we must ensure that this process is done right. We’ve come this far and it is my deep hope that you will help make certain that we have the resources to ensure a fair and accurate vote. Votes are being counted on Wednesday. Please click here to donate online by midnight tomorrow night to ensure we have the resources to fight for the voters of the 20th District!

My most sincere thanks for all you’ve done,

Scott

PS: Please rush your donation in online by midnight tomorrow night. The other side is raising money based on their lies and distortions. Help us set the record straight!

Because Murphy and I are both Harvard '92, I'm on his mailing list and got this. I assume he wants the absentee ballot count to start before military ballots arrive? I hope the Republicans are on the ball.

I thought they’d already started counting the absentee ballots.

Dems calling for a fair election is like a vampire calling for sunrise.

“I assume he wants the absentee ballot count to start before military ballots arrive?”

Yes, he does, and the count will start tomorrow.

They need to extend the deadline for military absentee ballots past April 13, so there is time for them to be counted. Hannity said they need 45 days in a war zone.

Email or call your favorite tv and local radio talk show hosts. This needs more coverage so the district AND the country will know that libDem politicians don’t want military votes to be counted.

It would be strange if they were counted, the norm is that they are not. Remember Florida, and the Alamo.

Absentee ballots are rarely counted, unless the number of votes cast absentee, are likely to change the outcome.

Who exactly determines likely, your guess is as good as mine.

why can’t the military give some sort of fighter jet priority transport of the votes?

They can deliver a load of bombs to Iraq from Kansas, I guess it's to complicated. They do what they are ordered to do.
