While the American media paints Barack Obama’s European tour as a balm on strained relations with EU allies, Europeans have a much different reaction to Obama today. After Obama endorsed Turkey’s bid to enter the EU, the Continental grumbling has broken through in the media — and the political class. Der Spiegel reports that German and French officials have begun complaining about Obama’s arrogance in injecting himself into a European decision, including French President Nicolas Sarkozy:

Turkey should never be able to become a member of the EU for many reasons, none of which Obama either knows or cares about.
His real problem is NPD.
Not only is he arrogant, he obviously doesn’t listen to his Protocol people (note the bow) or his foreign relations people. It sounds like he just makes up stuff as he goes along regardless of what his aides say because I can’t believe they would tell him to say some of what he says. Of course FR is the one of the few places we’ll hear about it.
Gee, from all the perspective I’m seeing from the fellating media, Hussein’s trip to Europe was one big hugfest.
I wish the dumb American voters would wake up to this guy’s arrogance as well.

Not to defend zero but the I seem to remember a time or two that we had to inject ourselves in French and German concerns in the past. Just sayin'.
