You mean July. It snows in August. Been there, done that.

Not to kill your "you mean July" argument/statement, but I've been to 4th of July parades in Montana when it snowed so hard, one could hardly see the parade. Oh, and it was cold as heck!!!!

Great to see it. Go Montana. Idiotic interstate commerce law. It would be nice to see adherence to Constitutional principals once again.

Anyone know if there is somewhere warm to live in Montana?

I have a friend, in Forsyth, that has a furnace in his basement.

OK, I admit that snow during ANY month is possible in Montana. But even the Montanans, talk about having only two seasons of the year: “Winter, and July.”

Congrats to Montana. Maybe they will inspire other states.

Tennessee is already on top of it!

From the Tennessee Legislature’s own website:

HB 1783 by *West. (*SB 1644 by *Beavers.)
Firearms and Ammunition - As introduced, enacts the “Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act.” - Amends TCA Title 4.

Bill Summary
This bill states that federal laws and regulations do not apply to personal firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition that is manufactured in Tennessee and remains in Tennessee. The limitation on federal law and regulation stated in this bill applies to a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured using basic materials and that can be manufactured without the inclusion of any significant parts imported into this state. This bill states that firearms accessories imported into Tennessee that are subject to federal regulation do not subject a firearm to federal regulation under interstate commerce simply because they are attached to or used in conjunction with a firearm in Tennessee.

This bill requires a firearm manufactured or sold in Tennessee under this bill to have the words “Made in Tennessee” clearly stamped on a central metallic part.
- AND -

HB 1924 by *Fincher, Evans. (*SB 1908 by *Jackson.)
Firearms and Ammunition - As introduced, enacts the “Second Amendment Protection Act” prohibiting the sale of microstamped firearms or ammunition in this state. - Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13.

This bill makes it a Class A misdemeanor criminal offense for any licensed firearms dealer to transfer, deliver, sell, or offer for transfer, delivery, or sale in Tennessee any new firearm or any firearm ammunition knowing that the firearm or ammunition was microstamped. For purposes of this bill, “microstamped” means the technology by which a laser or other device is used to engrave the internal mechanisms of a firearm for ballistic imprinting, or the casing of a cartridge, so that when the firearm is fired, information identifying the firearm or the purchaser of the ammunition can be matched to a specific firearm or purchaser.

This bill does not prohibit the owner of a firearm or ammunition lawfully acquired from having the firearm or ammunition microstamped.

The proposed law aims to exempt firearms, weapons components and ammunition made in Montana and kept in Montana...

Here's my primary question: How can any company with an already narrow customer base hope to succeed and prosper by only selling inside state borders? Especially since relative to say Florida or even Texas, Montana is sparsely populated to start with?

Secondary question: Don't a ton of liberals own the majority of Montana land? IIRC Ted Turner owns about 50,000 acres in either Montana or Wyoming. I've heard that Robert Redford owns a ton too. Those guys can really make an impact on local and state politics if they want. Based on property taxes and such it effectively makes some pigs more equal than other pigs.
