BTTT means “bump to the top”

When a new post or comment is added to a thread (story like this with commencts) it gets put back on top the list of articles you see displayed

So, since FREE REPUBLIC has in 10 years not figured out a better way to do this bandwidth wasting “bttt” posts keep a story thread alive

I’m interested in this too. I knew BTTT means bump to the top, but who actually sees it and then actually bumps it to the top? It doesn’t happen automatically, does it?
