Gun control advocates said if a man who complained about not getting enough in unemployment benefits could afford enough ammunition to repeatedly practice shooting and go into his killing zone with a satchel of bullets around his neck, new ways are needed to stem gun violence, including raising the price of ammunition.

Idiots. People bent on suicide don't have long term money concerns. And of course it didn't occur to them to say that unemployment benefits were too high.

In any event, since when is a freedom supposed to be hard and expensive to exercise?

I agree with you on the lunacy of the of the liberal idiots parroting the “raise the price of ammo”. Like all gun grabbing media trial balloons, there is no actual truth or logic in their claims. The price of ammo or the number and ease of access to weapons isn't the issue. Homicidally inclined, maladjusted mis fits will seek out and destroy helpless victims to get their “blaze of glory” no matter what. Want to really have a race, don't fixate on blabbering on about how the bad guy could have pumped 98 bullets out in less than a minute. In the first place, it only sounds impressive to the ignorant. He killed 13 people, he could have done it with a couple of rusty revolvers and taking his time to carefully reload. There was nobody there to stop him. If he really wanted to just create horrible results, he could have chosen a larger group of unarmed victims and taken out hundreds with a couple of dollars worth of gasoline and a few glass bottles, sort of a poor man's version of 911. Of course then the media would be fixating on what we Americans had done to drive him to this, not on the easy access to gasoline. Or, I could be wrong and we'd all be facing TSA screening, and having to hold our pants up without a belt while we fill our cars with $12.00 a gallon gasoline.
