Real tough guys -- first shooting a pet therapy dog, then threatening a SEAL under circumstances where they know they're fully protected. Fact is, they'd last less than 5 seconds with that SEAL if they were all alone.
Some doggy style type justice awaits them in the pokey, I suspect.
Jackson Prison in Michigan has a dog rescue program. The hardest of the hard core long-timers can volunteer to take a dog with severe problems, and try to turn it into a safe family pet. Otherwise, the dog is headed for the needle. The dog lives with the convict for the four months that he's got to turn the dog around.
Prison officials say the effect is miraculous for both dog and con. Both the prisoner and the dog experience for the first time in their lives another living thing that cares for and loves them. They say it's common to see some killer, in for multiple life sentences, break down and cry as he sees "his" dog adopted by a new loving family. They can't find enough "critical case" dogs for all the prisoners who volunteer for the program.
I'm sure a transfer to Jackson for these scum would be an eye-opening, but short, experience.
