Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart, who started in a home game against the A's Wednesday night, was killed in a felony hit-and-run car accident in Fullerton, California, early Thursday morning, according to multiple reports.
The accident was cause by the driver of a minivan who ran a red light, which caused the Mitsubishi that Adenhart was riding in to hit a light pole, police said. In addition to the 22-year-old Adenhart, two other people died in the crash. One of the other people killed was also affiliated with the Angels organization, TMZ reports.
The driver of the minivan fled the scene but was later caught and charged with felony hit-and-run.
Adenhart struck out five batters in six scoreless innings Wednesday. The rookie righthander did make three starts for the Angels last year, posting a 1-0 record with a 9.00 ERA.
Adenhart was called up from AAA ball this season after injuries to Angels pitchers John Lackey, Ervin Santana and Kelvim Escobar.
When legit joe or jane citizens are involved in a collision, the law is going to know exactly who the registered owner is if the driver flees ...Generally when a citizen flees the scene, the only thing they can come up with is, "My car was stolen".
The driver of this vehicle, is done.
I think that it's a pretty good bet, since:
1) It's SOP for illegals to flee the scene of a car accident on foot.
2) More damning, is the fact the article doesn't ID the offender.
I’ll bet the perp’s name is something like Paddy Schwartz. /s
"The driver of the van that apparently ran the red light, Andrew Thomas Gallo, 22, fled the scene, according to police. Gallo, of Riverside, was later arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run. The passenger in the van, Raymond Alexander Rivera, 21, was taken to Western Medical Center-Anaheim with minor injuries, according to Fullerton officer Laura Markoski.

“Gee. The driver of the minivan fled.
Hmmm. I wonder why?”
It’s called ‘Illegal Alien Insurance’. Crash the ride? Run and Hide!
CNN is reporting now that the name of the driver who killed him is Andrew Thomas Gallo.

I'm hearing the driver was found drunk in nearby Anaheim.
Lost the bet
I have never understood why the penalty for killing someone while driving drunk is so light. The car is being used the same way a gun is.....
One of the vehicles, a gray Mitsubishi, slammed into a power pole, Brower said. Two of its passengers were dead at the scene, he said. The other two were transported to UC Irvine Medical Center, where a third later died. The remaining passenger was in critical condition, Brower said.
Murray said Adenhart underwent surgery and died at the hospital, but did not know if he died during or after the procedure.
A passenger in the minivan was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, Brower said. The third vehicle sustained minor damage, and its driver was unhurt, he said. Police did not identify any of the dead.
The minivans driver fled the scene and was later arrested, Brower said. Andrew Thomas Gallo, 22, of Riverside will face charges of manslaughter, felony driving under the influence and hit-and-run, he said.

I'm starting to wonder now if Andrew Thomas Gallo is truly his real name.
Hard to tell sometimes from the name only. Who would have thought Richard Reid was a radical muzzie just by his name?
An then Gov. Bill Richardson comes to mind . . .
But he is Hispanic.
We just got photos of Courtney Stewart, the driver of the Mitsubishi Eclipse in the fatal crash which killed Nick Adenhart. Sadly, she also passed away.
