Scary updates... prayers up for those in the path of this weather. I have a cousin and his wife near Huntsville, used to live in Madison but may have moved to a nearby community.
I-24 closed at Medical Center Pkwy and at 840. Nobody allowed into damaged area at Medical Center Pkwy but emergency responders.
I live in what we call “The real Buckhead”, outside of Madison, Ga. Cloudy here, hubby is out cutting grass.
Where did you find this info?
MTMC in Murfreesboro is calling in all surgeons in the area.
I’m guessing she’s got a scanner.
I just talked to my daughter in Nashville (via email)...she said it was scarey; looks like Nashville is clearing a little and the storms are moving east.
She moved to TN after she competed in Murfreesboro at the Collegiate National Equestrian competition with her University. She loves it up there, but says this weather is pretty scarey.
Waiting additional word, if she provides any details I will update for others who are interested/concerned about the situation there.
Reports of rotation headed toward I-40 between Cookeville and Monterrey.
From WTVF - Channel 5. Semi truck flipped at I-24 and Medical Center Pkwy entrance to I-24 east. No traffic being allowed north on Medical Center Pkwy. Report says dozens of houses damaged. TEMA says there are injuries. Asks onlookers to stay away. They have not completed their emergency response yet. Blackman has heavy damage, but there doesn’t seem to be reporters and cameras there. I haven’t seen any visuals of that area yet.
Newschannel5.com has had some pix of Blackman area.
I’m in the Tri-cities area. We have 70 degrees, sunny, temperatures ‘rising’. The stillness is disturbing since for the past several days we’ve had high winds. Weather report says to brace for coming severe thunderstorms. Strange times.
bump!
I’ve been in both, and I hope never to be again. I can truthfully say they are equally bad. Just having to drive over the Bay Bridge several times a day after the SF one could land you in a mental institution if you thought about it
Do you know if this severe weather is hitting around Dandridge TN? My college boys are heading there on I-81 from Lynchburg VA...
Keep an eye on the low pressure center. It seems to be in Ky moving fast. Right now most of the energy is moving along a line that would affect a Chattanooga to Spring City area as far as TN goes. I’m sure Al. and Ga. will be under the gun as well.
Dandridge is 150 - 200 miles east. It’s moving in that direction, but it’s difficult to say if they will hold together.
