So, as I understand it, an American analogy would be Conservatives in Red Shirts and Acorn disrupters in blue shirts just the opposite of the Thais.

Up here in the hills above Chiang Mai, most people aren’t even paying attention to all this, tit is Songkran, and there is a 6 day holiday weekend and throwing water and getting drunk is all they care about. Here the attitude is “what happens in Bangkok stays in Bangkok”.
