Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma all lead the nation in this, meth addiction, prescription painkiller addiction, the incarceration of women, etc., etc.
Backyard breeders are “puppy mills” yet many licensed “rescues” are nothing but glorified hoarders. This is not right.
My pup was bought from a “broker” who had a bunch of happy healthy pups. She is a darling “Pet quality” dog and exactly what we wanted.
When it comes to POS like this. Horse whipping and high voltage would only be the beginning.

This happened about a couple miles from my house. I know the people involved and will vouch for them being low-lifes.
“Puppy Mills” are an Oprah cause that has been on the front burner here in PA for over ten years.
Laws have been passed about animal care that have forced legitimate animal shelters contracted to house stray animals to close down.
The laws impose massive costs on the shelters and their services to local municipal governments in the area have been lost.
The area SPCA has built a new facility that will hopefully serve the need. But I’m wondering if some government inspector will show up and declare that animals are being “poorly treated” there.
Animal inspectors now have more power in this area.
Of course now that the cost of caring for stray animals is higher in the new expensive SPCA facility, I wonder if euthanization occurs sooner for animals who aren’t adopted.
That’s one apsect worth checking out.......
While I think puppy mills should be regulated and inspected, my dog is from a pet store (and probably a mill), and I’ve been very happy to have her here.
