Taxpayers Hold "Boston Tea Party" Revolt in Marysville, CA (Tea Party/Tax Revolt links and updates)

A revolution is brewing in Marysville. Hundreds of taxpayers held their own "Boston Tea Party" at Washington Park.

The Yuba County Republican Party organized the protest and voter information fair, but organizers say members of all parties can unite for a common cause. They're against tax increases as well as imposing new taxes such as the ones proposed in six propositions that will be on the ballot in a statewide special election on May 19th.

"This event is for everyone because taxes are affecting everyone, not just republicans, democrats, independents," said Terry Rutherford.

Local politicians were on hand for the revolt.

"It was basically that people have had enough, they're being taxed too much, we're spending too much and we're borrowing too much," said Congressman Wally Herger.

"Taxpayers in california need to draw a line in the sand. we are the highest taxed state in the country right now," Assemblyman Dan Logue.

Many taxpayers realize their money should go to funding important government programs, but they say they don't want their hard earned cash just thrown away.

"Why should these people who are supposed to represent us take my money, and not just my money, my grandchildren's, and my great grandchildren's money and use them for absolute wasted efforts?" said Brownsville resident Carolyn Spears.

Similar "Boston Tea Party" events are scheduled to take place across the country on tax day, April 15.

The federal income tax code is beyond repair. The tax code has been tinkered with for the last 96 years since the it was enacted in 1913 and the result has been 67,500 plus pages of indecipherable jargon so complex even the increasingly intrusive IRS answer questions incorrectly 50% of the time.

The income tax code needs to be replaced with a simple, fair and transparent consumption/national and abolishes the IRS tax via The Fair Tax Act(HR25/S296).
