“F4s, F5s, F7s, F14s, and MiG-29 aircraft, as well as the Russian Sukhoi aircraft and Boeing 707 and 747.”

The Mig 29’s are probably the ones that the Saddam Hussein had flown to Iran during the start of the Iraq cleanup, and never returned.

I wonder how many plans will crash due to lack of parts and poor maintenance.

All of their efforts to put on a good show would also make them most vulnerable.

Pride and arrogance will cause them to put their best out front. Because it will be an air show, they will not be combat ready, meaning minimum level of weaponry, and marginal loads of fuel to enhance their performance.

Another nation that wanted to shake things up could use that window of opportunity to their best advantage.

Then again, it could be a trap.

The Sukhois and MiGs are mostly former Iraqi Air Force.

Only four Iraqi MiG-29s flew over to Iran. The vast majority of the MiG-29 fleet are Russian supplied and supported. The Iranians have no problems in receiving spare parts from Russia.
