Abortion, Obama - Now Georgetown - "Catholic" Georgetown University Follows Notre Dame, Invites Obama to Speak; Pro-Lifers to Protest

WASHINGTON, April 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being issued by Randall Terry, founder of Operation Rescue:

On Tuesday, April 14, from 10:30 a.m. to the end of Mr. Obama's speech, DC area Pro-life leaders and activists will protest at the entrance to Georgetown University at 37th and O Street. Their presence is to denounce Georgetown, who invited President Obama to speak, knowing the scandal and outrage surrounding his scheduled speech at Notre Dame on May 17.

Randall Terry, Operation Rescue Founder, and Missy Smith, Director of WAKEUP!, will lead the protest.

Randall Terry states:

"The University has deliberately poked its finger in the eye of the Bishops and faithful Catholics who have condemned President Obama's appearance at Notre Dame.

"But far worse - they have cast aside the unborn who will perish under President Obama's policies. They have put prestige ahead of life.

"Georgetown's attitude seems to be: Germany's leaders built great roads in the 1930s, they helped save the banks, and they rebuilt the economy. Let's focus on their economy - not that whole genocide thing."

"Mr. Obama is spending our money to promote child-killing in Africa and forced abortion in China; he is changing the conscience regulations for health workers, so that Catholic hospitals must refer for abortion, or dispense abortifacients; he has unleashed our money to pay for the creation and destruction of innocent human embryos. This sudden invite is as wicked as it is sneaky.

"Georgetown's actions are an affront to faithful Catholics, and to the innocent we are charged to defend."

Obama has again been asked to make a mockery of our Catholic Faith by being invited to speak at a Catholic University, right under our noses without a public announcement.

Obama will address the student body at Georgetown Univeristy at Gaston Hall at 11:30am, Tuesday, April 14th.

We must protest this abomination to God and a slap in the face to we who defend our Catholic faith by meeting at 37th Street and O Street NW on Tuesday, April 14th at 10:30am.

Join Randall Terry and Missy Smith and others to express our disgust with the attempt to weaken our resolve to keep pro-abortion politicians out of our Catholic Educational Institutions and to keep these pro-abortion politicians from poluting the minds of our youth.

The murder of our innocent children in the womb is not acceptable as a mere diverse view. It is legal murder.

This is an Emergency, not a time for business as usual. Your presence is needed. It is time for us to stand up for God and Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We need to show up in large numbers. This short notice is regrettable, blame Georgetown.

Contact Missy Smith for additional infor 202-288-4984.

Georgetown hasnt been a catholic College in years.

It is an abomination that Archbishop Weurl and other Bishops should solve by taking away the so-called catholic status of the College.

Georgetown is about as Catholic as Notre Dame is Irish.

Seems to me that Georgetown has been taken behind the woodshed before because of its rather limp grip on its Catholicity. If these wealthy “Catholicish” institutions are going to flaunt their fairydiddling versions of Catholic orthodoxy for whatever it is they gain from such nonsense, then it is time for the Pope to call in the head of the Jesuit order and the head Holy Cross order and kick their self-righteous asses out of the church, along with the horses they rode in on. Maybe that should have been done long ago, because it appears these kind of clerics are bent on doing harm, not good, and have been for a while.

As for Obama, he is not very smart to keep inserting himself in the middle of a sort of a family fued between devout Catholics and nominal Catholics.

One of the things that amazes me is Obama’s acceptance of these awards and commencements . Any man of honor would call the Universities and state that it appears he isnt wanted and will not come. Obama is doing just the opposite, because he knows this will hurt the Church. It is divisive, it splits Catholics and Obama likes that.

This man is truly a Piece of Work.

It's really just exposing a split that was already there, between Catholics who are faithful to the magisterium and the Catholic faith, and those who think they're faithful to some figment of the imagination they call the "spirit of Vatican II".

I guess exposing something that was previously hidden like that makes Obama an angel of light. [snort]
