Who's poised to lead the Republican party out of the woods? John McCain seems convinced that one GOP notable is not the person for the job, someone he's quite familiar with - his former running mate.
On Monday's "Tonight Show," Jay Leno asked the Arizona Senator to name the new guiding lights of the Republican party, and McCain was quick to rattle off a list of "young, dynamic" governors around the country.
Palin wasn't one of them.
McCain singled out Lousisana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Florida Gov. Charlie Christ, Minnesota's Tim Pawlenty, and Mitt Romney, McCain's chief rival for the Republican presidential nod in 2008.
In case anyone missed his conspicuous omission of Palin, McCain then added, "And I've left out somebody's name, and I'm gonna hear about it."

McCain just did Palin a favor.
Palin was the only reason Juan McCain got as many votes as he did. I can’t wait for 2012 Saracuda is going to shut a bunch of pie holes.
He got his reward from the empty suit for throwing Sarah Palin under the bus.
He one, among many, who is never, ever to be trusted. It’s all about what he can get in return for his services.
He jokes about omitting Palin in that vid. Hahaha he’s so witty.
I wish the GOP went with Romney instead of McCain. McCain is a good guy until he gets in front of the mainstream media. Then he panders his ass off trying to please them. He actually ran a brilliant campaign late in the primary, then the convention and it all went downhill as the panderking came out of hiding. I am not a huge fan of Romney, but he would have beat the commie-in-office we now have.

Bump! And if I may add, one that sees our greatness, and LOVES it. I never thought we would see the day, that we could elect a President who held such thinly veiled hatred for all we stand for...
Tatt
Sarah hooked her star to the wrong dwarf. I wonder if she did not know about who McCain is before she agreed to join him. If she did know he is a back stabber of all that is not Rino, why did she go running to him?
He is really trying to ruin her reputation after she worked so hard for him. Why did she work so hard for a Rino? I just don’t get it.
McCain says he was a foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution.
Of course he was - for the other side.
You know, I may be glad this old sh!tb!rd didn’t get elected. We would have gotten more of this BS “compassionate conservatism” crap. At least bammy is riling up the masses.
Your use of the phrase “go running to him” is highly problematic.

Oh, hardy har. Classless tool.
I'm sure it salves McCain's immense wounded ego to blame his pathetic presidential loss on Sarah Palin.
This despite the fact that the Governor was the only bright, energetic, positive part of his miserable, poorly run campaign.
Then the sore loser unleashes his idiot daughter on the country.
Just think about it: I bet it’s safe to say that thousands of FReepers were actually gonna vote for this guy!
Kinda sickening, ain’t it???
The reality is; McCain USED and betrayed us all. The only reason why he chose Gov Palin was political expediency and he did not mean one thing he said about her. I hope he loses his senate seat.
I was so angry I didn't spell check!
That was gratuitous assholery! McCain is attempting to get his "cool" image back by cutting the throats of his associates. This is vintage McCain.
