I wasn't a Michelle hater before the election. I thought her critics went over the top, with their charges of everything from race-related thought-crimes to terrorist-coddling tendencies. Now, however, I find myself on the verge of gagging at the Michelle-worship that has seized America.
My problem is mostly not with Michelle per se. After all, she has to get on with the business of being a First Wife, interviews, photo ops and all. It's with the way that this country, which supposedly voted for change, now suddenly worships the 1950s, pre-Betty Freidan, Leave It To Beaver family ideal. Had Howard Dean made it to the presidency, and had his wife Judith Steinberg continued to practice medicine as she said she planned to--that would have been change. Cherie Blair, who practiced law and gave birth while her husband ran Great Britain, and Tony Blair, who took a brief paternity leave from prime ministerial duties, made an inspiring couple. They showed us an alternative to the age-old formula of woman-sacrifices-all.
Michelle, on the other hand, is a woman who toned down and then gave up her career for her husband's, who became a Senate widow so that he could achieve his public ambition. Which is fine for Michelle Obama--people make choices, two-career families are tricky, I get it. But while we make decisions about our lifestyles in private, they have an aggregate public impact. It is still the case that women, not men, overwhelmingly choose to make Michelle's sacrifice--to forgo the opportunity to see where their talents could take them. Men, like Barack, feel free to have both a family and a passion outside of it.

Oh please, what career? Her hospital sinecure as a "Minority outreach coordinator" or whatever that phony job was called? That she got paid 200 grand for as an ill-disguised bribe so her husband would steer an earmark full of pork their way? Gimme a break.

It's not the "the country" doing the worshiping. It's the media in this country doing the worshiping. And covering up of who and what the Obama's really are.
And one day, when it all comes to a head, the media in this country should hang along side the rest of the traitors.

From what I’ve read— her “job” was so critical, that when she gave it up, the position was terminated. Guess they could not find another applicant with those same qualifications— having a spouse who could steer them taxpayer money!
She was never proud of MY country, she’s a flaming lib, she hates whites and spent over 20 years praying for our destruction..... That’s all I needed to know.
