MEXICO CITY (Reuters) Fast food giant Burger King apologized Tuesday for an advertisement featuring a squat Mexican draped in his country's flag next to a tall American cowboy and said it would change the campaign. Mexico's ambassador to Spain said posters released in Europe for Burger King's new Tex-Mex style "Texican whopper," a cheeseburger with chile and spicy mayonnaise, inappropriately displayed the Mexican flag, whose image is protected under national law. The ambassador wrote a letter complaining to Burger King and requested the ad campaign be discontinued. Burger King said the ads were meant to show a mixture of influences from the southwestern United States and Mexico, not to poke fun at Mexican culture, but said it would replace them "as soon as commercially possible."

send them some more evil , US ,assault rifles (sarc)
Perhaps obama will appoint the Burger King KING to be Ambassador (czar) to Spain.
The poor guy was banded the same way back in the 60's.
Will this new tasty delight be marketed anywhere in the US? Maybe Texas?
You mean, like they got in the Mexican War?
yup!
Remind me never to eat there again. Say no to corporate PC cowards. + their food stinks.
Wonder if they will put any heat in it. Most chipotle mayos have no heat and that angry whopper was a sissy.
I’ve got to admit, having the little guy wear the Mexican flag as a serape’ was over the top. Equivalent to having the big guy wear a shirt made from an American flag.

I think the square butt Burger King add it stupid and unfit for TV. Seems like they might need a new commercial writing team!!
To top it off, I think that add is for a kids meal. It redefines the “race to the bottom.” :)
Is Burger King prejudiced against Mexicans, or is the Mexican government prejudiced against small people?
It’s the Hardee’s commercials that must be produced by teeny-bopper ad companies. Hardee’s is always pushing the envelope to get away with whatever they can. With their latest offering of TT&A, they can forget much business from most of us “ordinary” women. We don’t appreciate scantily clad, provocative women parading in front of our husbands on t.v. Of course, I suppose they only need the construction worker guys having lunch at Hardee’s to stay in business. (A woman eating a hamburger with a sloppy up close mouth and sexually suggestive tongue is sort of nauseating to most women, other than lesbians I suppose.)
...you play to your audience, they are after 18-35 year old males.
Yep. That’s what I said. I don’t eat at Hardee’s.
But where can we find another Winfield Scott, Zachary Taylor, Robert E. Lee, or the others who fought that battle?
