New model of female condom could bring wider use

NEW YORK (AP) - Advocates of the female condom are promoting a less costly, more user-friendly version that they hope will vastly expand its role in the global fight against AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.
An early version of the female condom was introduced in 1993, and it remains the only available woman-initiated form of protection against both STDs and unintended pregnancy. Yet despite global promotion by the United Nations and other organizations, its usage is still minuscule, even as women bear an ever-growing share of the AIDS epidemic.

The problem is that the need to brand the condom with Gucci to get more women to use it. Do that, and they won't be able to make enough of them. :P

So here’s more about AIDS and condoms, this time the female condom.
People in mutually monogamous relationships don’t have to worry about AIDS or any other type of VD.
While a condom is better than nothing as far as spreading of diseases go, it would be good to avoid the behaviors that spread the diseases in the first place.
How many of you would gladly have sex with a person you knew had AIDS? Would you really depend on that condom for your safety?????
