They dreamed. Volunteered. Had smiles that made others smile.

They were 32 people who Virginia Tech paused yesterday to remember and to honor, on the second anniversary of the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

Under a cloudless sky, 3,000 gathered: families, friends, faculty -- the community of Virginia Tech -- to reflect on those who died.

To honor the 10th anniversary of Columbine, and SWAT teams everywhere, hide behind your cars for a few hours.

The NRA needs to take this head-on, and use those anniversaries to conduct free pistol-permit training in Virginia and Colorado. They also need to run ads "what if someone there had a gun?" and also highlight the role of anti-depressant drugs in BOTH cases.

With those lives that were lost, also went a little brightness from out future.

I pray, that in time, their families can find peace.

Families Of VT Massacre Victims File Lawsuits

Fairfax County, VA) -- Two families of victims of the Virginia Tech shootings filed lawsuits on Thursday, the second anniversary of the massacre. The families of Nicole Peterson and Julie Pryde are suing the university and mental health officials for gross negligence. They claim officials didn't do enough when Seung Hui Cho's disturbing behavior came to light. The lawsuits are seeking ten-million-dollars. The families are also suing Cho's estate. Other families already agreed to an eleven-million-dollar settlement last summer.
