>>issues never directly addressed in the Constitution

Not addressed in the Constitution, perhaps, but observe the view of at least one of the founders:

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked: Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice ? And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.

It is substantially true that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. The rule, indeed, extends with more or less force to every species of free government. Who that is a sincere friend to it can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?"

--from President George Washington's farewell address, 1796

Certainly Whitman's ilk have no interest in conserving the foundation of the fabric.

Nibble nibble like a mouse, Whitman's chewing on our house.

Quack, waddle:  RAT.

GOP should consider removing Christie Todd Whitman from the party, or at least funding any primary challengers...

another RINO

listen to all those homosexual lovers out there in our party
our party is about traditional values, their agenda is not just about marriage but taking kids as their own, teaching their agenda in schools etc, If you cannot see that then I do despair.

We have the majority of people in this country who do not want homosexual(not gay) marriage nor do the majority want homosexuals to get kids or have their agenda taught in schools,

It is something which we can win with but instead we have yet again a GOP who is out of touch with the base and most Americans, We have a GOP in some circles who do not understand anything and are being dictated to by the radical left in this country as well as a bunch of homosexuals

one would think that many of these RINO’s would look at at how states voted and realise that every state which voted did not want the homosexual agenda, they are in the minority and instead the gutless ones in our party are not understanding this.

Those where homosexuals have their sham have not been allowed to vote or haven’t voted on the issue

So McCain, his chief staffer(yea great strategist wasn’t he) and Whitman either get with the majority of Americans or do shut up and leave the party

The likes of Hannity who say they are for conservative issues make me sick as they are scared of the gaystapo and the homosexuals know it

traditional marriage and families are the majority, it is what the people want but instead of the GOP getting this message out they remain silent for fear of homosexuals and the radical left

not just the majority of the GOP with this view , it is the majority of Americans and they have voted on this and said in the states where the vote has been allowed that they do not want homosexual marriage

just what the hell doesn’t the GOP understand about this

going liberal does not work for crying out loud

Who? Was'nt she like governor like 123 years ago?

Over the years, all of Whitman's suggestions have turned out to be wrong.

exactly
the majority of the white, black Hispanic communities and Asian all do not want homosexual marriage as their votes have shown and yet instead of jumping on this issue and saying to those communities hey we think man and a woman, , father and mother, none of this crap in schools etc,.
they instead keep silent even Rush and Hannity do not mention it and instead the likes of Savage, Laura, Ann do the talking about it instead.

THE NJORITY OF AMERICANS DO NOT WANT HOMOSEXUAL MARRIAGE, SO TELL THE PUBLIC WHERE OUR PARTY STANDS INS TEAD OF KEEPIING SILENT

sorry for the caps but it is frustration that those GOP are being told what to have in our platform by homosexuals who vote for the Dems

The GOP should use traditional marriage to win elections and make this a big deal seeing as the majority of Americas oppose the homosexual agenda and instead they do not and I am pissed off with it.

it is an election winner but they are too scared of being called a name of some fairy

either leave the party or just shut the hell up

what is frustrating is that the majority in this country do not want homosexual marriage so therefore if we had a party with some guts instead of PC we could use this to our advantage but instead the gutless open their mouths and the others say nothing.

it is like the far left and the homosexuals are running our party , even with hannity(frustrating} and Rush they do not mention it but instead it is the women on radio who do

little I have said this ion other posts on here but in case you missed it.

This subject could be an election winner in many areas as the majority do not want homosexual marriage.

but instead of using this and pointing out the Dems(who will then hide from it) are the party of homosexuality and their agenda.
It is they who want to teach this in schools etc.

NO we have our own party who have no guts what so ever, who are afraid of being called a little name instead of wanting what most in this country want

Even CA voted against them
Ma would not even allow their citizens to even vote on it as they were knowing they wouldn’t have got it

for heavens sake will someone get a grip of the GOP and stop being scared of a name

the more you oppose their agenda the more they get all melodramatic which would help us, or we would say is that what happened to their tolerance of me and my view.

This is such a no brain er for elections and yet we do not use it

Christine Todd Whitman (aka whitless) is just trying to be the anti-palin so she can run as a rino.

She is otherwise doa in politics and she thinks she can spin as “me too” female republican.

If whitman was viable mccain would have picker her as the token female.

Whitman needs to sit down and shut up. She is just pushing the pro homo meme.

It is no accident that the “women” of the republican party are pushing special rights for homosexuals. How many of these high up republican RINO women are just glorified “**g h*gs”?

how many homosexuals in Christine todd whitman’s circle of friends and advisors?

And this is our “conservative” party.

McCain, Whitman, Specter, Collins, et al, are as much my allies in what I hope for America in politics as are the “God is Dead” liberals in religion.

I've no use for them or for any group that aids, abets, harbors, or provides comfort to them in any manner.

I am so far beyond disgust for the GOP it's not even funny. I truly think that that ONLY hope for conservatism in America is a third party, I no longer believe the GOP can be salvaged. Since the day Reagan left office, the GOP has generally gone out of it's way to do exactly the opposite of what they should do.

I’m starting to think that the Repubs do not want to win. They just want to push an agenda which is almost the same as the Dem agenda. Log Cabin Repubs purpose for existing is to get the Repubs to accept and further the homosexual agenda. I read somewhere in the last couple of days that it is thought that 10% of the Congressional staffers are homosexuals. Apparently the suits in DC are the royal elites who have “different” morals than us regular serfs.

Reminds me of the disgusting Roman Empire with Caligula at the helm.

IMO a majority of the “big” Repubs are disgusting slime and need to go if there is ever going to be a real two party system. The Ds and Rs are at this point like a two headed snake.

I agree. Conservatism will win if Republicans don’t bend over for every minority group. Conservatism is the best thing for everyone, and it doesn’t need to be liberalized by the gay agenda or anything else.

agreed with all of that, it really doesn’t make sense that we have a subject here with the support of most in this country and this party doesn’t use it.
Further more , just what exactly is going on in the north east?

Reagan came and sold our platform and we won for 12 years, now we have a party which keeps saying that we should adopt liberal left wing views and even though it goes in the face of most Americans and it doesn’t work they still keep pushing it.

Lets say we said right we’re going to want homosexuals to have their agenda, they can have their sham, they can get our children, they can teach it in schools, well can anyone of us see all of the small handful of homosexuals coming to vote for us now.
No they would turn around and then want something else or say do you think we’re stupid, do you think we’re going to tricked in to voting for you .
Should we then now say hey let those musliims and LDS marry as many women as they want?
Should we let father and daughter get married, hey they love each other, they are not hurting us, they are in their bedroom, they just want equal rights bla bla

It’s all a load of B/S, we have a subject which is an election winner and because homosexuals have infiltrated the party and our churches we should go with them now.

No way and if Whitman got out of DC and their elitist inner circle they would know that we as working class, middle class and even low class folk do not want the homosexual agenda

I don't know if it would work, BUT, there is the opinion that the base of the GOP is conservative, and the numbers are much larger than the party thinks they are. A lot have left and registered Independent. If ALL conservatives left, and the GOP was forced to court them rather than liberals, in order to get votes, it could change things. COULD be the operative word, no guarantee. Nothing stops anyone from voting GOP if it seems the best option, but if we start holding them accountable, really accountable, they would be forced to take notice. Thing is, many times there is no Conservative running. And a lot of states have very corrupt election counting.

We need to find out who these “conservative billionaires” are that organized the tea parties, lol, since no one seems to be finding them.

To be fair manc, Rush, when it comes to that, has stated flatly that he is a Christian who does believe strongly in marriage AS A MAN AND A WOMAN. He doesn't get into it often, but when he does, he is adamant.
