Axelrod calls Tea Parties 'unhealthy.'
CNN Political Ticker ^ | 4/19/2009 | CNN Political Producer Peter Hamby

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Senior White House adviser David Axelrod on Sunday suggested the "Tea Party" movement is an "unhealthy" reaction to the tough economic climate facing the country.

Axelrod was asked on CBS's "Face the Nation" about the "spreading and very public disaffection" with the president's fiscal policies seen at the "Tea Party" rallies around the country last week.

That nasty old piece of paper written over 200 years ago is cluttering up Obumas capital.

This country’s future depends on what the public perceives as the cause of our financial crisis, which will likely continue. Is it “the rich” and “capitalists” who hoard money or extreme overspending, debt, and trough-feeding by government unions and the welfare state?

It is imperative that we win the hearts and minds of the middle class. Politicians must also STOP their policies which flood the labor market with cheap foreign labor and offshore jobs. We cannot be free without a prosperous middle class.

"there is always an element of disaffection that can mutate into something that's unhealthy"

Like invading bacteria considers white blood cells an unhealthy mutation.

Sounds like a threat to me

Just one of many threats coming out of this admin.
The DHS document was essentially a declaration of war on opposing political ideas.

Sorry, my original suggestion was to post at CNN Political Ticker - but guess what? They closed comments there. As someone suggested above - let's call our Congress people to demand they toe a tougher line on spending in the budget instead. http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Healthiest thing to happen in the last 3 months.

Considerably longer than that, I'd say. Our response to the attempts to conduct "closed door" recounts in Florida back in 2000 - that's the last such incident that comes to mind.

I'm sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic.

Remember during the election politics if you didn't vote for the ONE you were a racist. They may come back to that one later.

Unhealthy? So the first amendment freedoms are now 'unhealthy?'

Well, ya know, it's an old document, written by dead old rich white guys, and it's a living document, and it's time for Change...

The leftys in the White House, Congress, and Media are dismissing the Tea Parties as not qualifying as a grass roots movement.

As I emailed O’Reilly this weekend, go back and look at the pictures. When the Left puts on a grass roots movement, it’s organized by their extreme groups, cookie-cutter signs are handed out by International Answer, and the MSM is told to show up and where to get the best shots.

The pictures of the Tea Parties show no cookie-cutter signs. Everyone brought their own hand-made signs. The media was aware of the time and place. They showed up as disrupters trying to make news, and if people looked beyond the Bimbo reporterette from CNN the hand-made signs were very prevalent. Hand-made signs proved the Tea Parties were a grass roots event.

The left has to stage their events right down to the coverage and the best camera angles to make them look bigger than they actually are.

Axelrod: Now listen to me all you who fail to heed the message of THE LORD AND MASTER OBAMA (praise his name). How dare any of you fail to fall in line and yield to the message. The message is that government is all powerful, and you must yield to the wisdom of your superiors. Fail to heed this message, AND YOU WILL BE DEALT WITH SUMMARILY!!!! That is all, and have a nice day.

"The thing that bewilders me is that this president just cut taxes for 95 percent of the American people,"

Aside from being tacitly untrue, this statement reveals an attitude of complete removal from the reality the American people in the private sector face right now. Ninety five percent of private sector employees are fearful for their jobs, while billions are flowing to banks, auto manufacturers, insurance companies, brokerage firms, and favored public sector bureacracies, and we're supposed to be happy our witholding has been reduced a minuscule amount? How ungrateful we are.

The good news is this is all they can come back with. They have to presume us to be so brain dead, that we would be oblivious to the fact that "95%" will in the end have to pay for all this through.......INCREASED TAXES.

Free speech, assembling under the First Amendment, is somehow now, unhealthy...but the Executive Branch’s DHS Memo insinuating terrorism and criminality to the domestic opposition, and apparently launching secretive plans to surveill and oppress that freedom...isn’t?
