Newt recently converted to Catholicism. I’m not implying that he did this for political purposes, but he is a politician in the end.

Newt has a plan.

Newt Gingrich: a younger version of Bob Dole. Let’s hope the Pubies don’t get Doled again like in ‘96!

I liked Newt until now, I just lost all respect for him, he is not in touch with our party (do we still have a party) like I thought he was.

Newt is smart but his eyes dart around all the time when he speaks. Shifty eyes to me appear to be a sign of a devious person.

Newt does not appear to be too trustworthy which is something his ex-wives would probably agree with. Sarah and Todd have been married a long time. Newt may be a bit smarter but I would trust Sarah more as long as she lays off that Global Warming crap.

My thoughts exactly. I want to see much more of the kinds of speeches and appearances she has been doing, but it’s pretty clear that some in the “establishment” are trying to cut her out early. Too early.

Newt is a person with an ego that’s bigger than the entire universe, and the same thing can also be said of a majority of: leftists worldwide, RINOs, the worldwide MSM, and college professors worldwide. The MSM would LOVE it, if Newt is the final GOP POTUS pick for ‘12, because of all of Newt’s negative personal baggage.

The RINOS want to keep the GOP candy store all to themselves, and even if it means they never see majority power again, that’s ok as far as they are concerned because they’re more like DEMONCRAPS than they are Conservatives.

I just don't understand how Newt, McCain and Co. have become so far out of touch with us that they think snubbing her is a good idea.

These guys and the so called "leadership" had better get in touch with us quick, or we'll end up with der Fuhrer 0bama and the Country torn apart.

What are we to think ... other than they do not want a conservative, honest, reform fighter, with family values to be the candidate? Shame. It does show what a bunch of corrupt, bought and paid for politicians we have in Washington. Caring 'nada' (not a whit) for what the people want and request.

Down with the current group and attitudes they represent.

The article says “beginning with Jindal and Palin”. How is this a snub then if she is implicit as one of the two leaders? Methinks the author is making this so called firestorm up.

I’m surprised there is room for Newt’s ego and anyone else in the same room.

Newt is moot.

Yesterday’s child.

We are looking otward the future.

And the future is Sarah Palin.

The GOP can get onboard or stay at the station.

Their choice.

I like Palin, and she's certainly more qualified to run this country than our current community organizer. However, as a candidate, I think she was stultified so drastically during the last election that even a good number of Conservatives believed the SNL characterization. We don't need an image hurdle to overcome before we gain voters in 2012. It may not be popular to say this here, but I don't think she's the best answer for us in 2012.

Yes, it infuriates me that the Left got away with misrepresenting her and slandering her like they did...but we'll cripple our efforts if we put her on the ballot. Just MHO.

Donning my flame resistant cloak here...

Newt couldn’t keep spending in check once the COA was ‘completed’, and he couldn’t keep his pants zipped long enough to hold the Speaker’s chair.

I don’t understand why so many people think Newt is some sort of political answer - his politics and personal failures started the congressional slide before W even took office.

I generally agree with Newt in purely philosophical terms, but I do not consider him a viable candidate.

He wasted the greatest opportunity the GOP has had in the last generation. Had he been able to maintain his vows and keep spending in check we would have had a STRONG congress in 2000 that could have gotten down to real fiscal reforms. As much as he deserves some of the credit for the successes of the COA he deserves a certain share of the blame for the political climate in which we find ourselves today.

I didn’t get the idea that Newt is snubbing her. The article doesn’t support that. What he says is true.

She needs to ramp up her knowledge of domestic and world affairs and prepare for a much harder campaign.

I think Newt is refreshingly honest.

I think the post is misleading.

Not even the fluid of nine tanna leaves can bring Newt's chances back to life.

Us villagers already have our torches and pitchforks ready if you come out.
