The ONLY thing I’ve seen that gives me reservations about Sarah is her apparent capitulation on globull warming

You should have bigger reservations about her claiming that she could see Russia from her house.

“WE MUST KEEP MEDIA FROM HIJACKING THE ELECTIONS IN 2010 and 2012.”

I don’t know how we can do that unless we begin getting OUR people in the media. Their editing of Palin’s interviews during the election to make her appear stupid was absolutely appalling, and I can’t think of ANYTHING we can do to stop that same kind of thing from happening next time.

The RATS (and, of course this includes the media) have proven they will do ANYTHING, absolutely ANYTHING to win and destroy their own country (though why they would want to destroy the very place they live in is beyond me). And all WE can do is come up with beyond-lame !@(*#-offs like McCain, who claim there’s “nothing to fear” and say nice things about their RAT opponents.

1. Newt knows if Sarah jumps in, he's toast.

2. How dare Newt lecture Sarah on her family scrutiny in the media. He must have forgotten how he was dragged through the mud, and will be again if he runs.

Newt’s dead to me. If the GOP jettisons her, then they jettison a good chunk of the Conservative base.

If that’s the best he can do, he must think he has a serious chance at the nomination.
He hasn’t.

But you can’t destroy conservatism... you can destroy the organization, but you can’t destroy a philosophy that people know is right, even if they don’t like it, even if they think there are easier softer ways.

Christianity Today: The questions/answers as provided from the transcript.....

snip:

Who do you see as the emerging leaders in the Republican Party: Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin?

Bobby Jindal is certainly brilliant and has a great future. Tim Pawlenty has a great future. There are a lot of people who are terrific. The fact is, I think that you can look at [governer of South Carolina] Mark Sanford, Paul Ryan in the House, [California congressman] Kevin McCarthy, or Eric Cantor [in the House]. I just think we're likely to have a dramatic resurgence. We have two great candidates in Ohio, John Kasich for governor and Rob Portman for the Senate, who are likely to be very, very effective.

Do you see any women emerging in the GOP leadership?

I would start, frankly, with Linda Lingle in Hawaii, who was a terrific governor who got re-elected in very difficult circumstances. You have Kay Bailey Hutchinson running for the governorship of Texas. If she wins that, she will automatically be a national figure because she'll be the governor of the second largest state.

You didn't mention Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin has an obvious role if she wants it. The question for her has to be, are she and her family willing to go through another couple of years of the kind of media coverage that they currently get? Is she willing to do the kind of development of national issues and development of a national profile that would be required? She is a celebrity in her own right. She is probably the most successful figure in the party right now, and she's a formidable figure. I think to go from there to becoming a national leader would take a significant amount of work.

end snip;

Keep in mind that Newt thought of running for president in 2008 and is probably thinking about doing it again in 2012.

Again, always turning on ourselves. How quickly we forget. The only Republican I can think of in the last 25 years who was worth a damn and who got more done has been Newt Gingrich... He is a very smart political man....

Newt Gingrich's hideously awful term as Speaker was the pre-eminent factor in the resurrection of Bill Clinton's presidency.

Newt thought up a great campaign gimmick. His attempt to implement that gimmick was a ghastly failure. He's a fine strategist; he's a terrible politician.

You will need the coat. And a clue because you have become another sheeple victim of the MSM tactics. You have fallen for the very 'plan' you cited. What does that say about you, as a conservative, that you are willing to accept the MSM's portrayal- one you admit to being unfair- as your reason for not supporting Palin?

What does that say about you?

Very true. If the good ol’ boys do succeed in driving us conservatives away from the GOP, the GOP is finished. Forever.

[So folks—no more of this stupidity that she has to be “seasoned” and “learn more”.]

I’m in the real world. Palin’s handler’s portrayed her as being naive and ignorant. They put her on SNL, making her look comical rather than presidential. They had her go before Charlie Gibson and other’s with canned answers.

She looked like a fool. Finally, she took control, and put an end to the nonsense, but the damage is done.

I’m not the only one saying this. Charles Krauthammer and others including Newt are saying this. Is she wishes to be a serious candidate in the future, she needs to ramp up her experience here and abroad.

“You should have bigger reservations about her claiming that she could see Russia from her house.”

I have even bigger reservations about someone who claims to be conservative repeating this lie.

Newt’s ego, which was already gargantuan to begin with, has probably taken a hit because the realization is beginning to sink in that his time is long past.

Yup.

Newt, IMHO, does much better working behind the scenes. Rallying the Troops. Dotting the i's and Crossing the t's. Checking too see which way the wind is blowing. He's a smart guy, his "Contract with America" was a pretty shrewd move (at the time, before the momentum got squandered in partisan bickering). He'd be a good Chief of Staff, or Presidential Advisor.

Too bad that his ego writes checks his ass can't cash.

I like Newt as a theorist (somewhat), but he’s beltway insider. Part of the political class that has CAUSED the problems we have today. Sitting on a sofa talking up AGW with Nancy P. was just a sign of that.

I think Newt is refreshingly honest.
Newt is a Republican/conservative fraud of the highest order.

Of the Pelosi/Newt commercial on "climate change" which one is really the stooge/useful idiot for the other party?...Your answer should tell you something about his "refreshing" honesty.

Yeah, our RINOs will not give Sarah a drum roll because they, as well as their Commie bros, are scared to death of a person with clear vision and a pure heart for her country. They are all part of the underground government which has brought us to the tragic pass we face today.

It may not be popular to say this here, but I don't think she's the best answer for us in 2012.

I'll get burned down with you.

Unfortunately, the left did such a good job of demonizing her in the '08 elections, that she may not be nationally electable again, or at least not for a good while. Unfortunate - I think that she's pretty darn qualified.

Maybe a stint in the Senate building a resume would do her some good. God knows that we could use some more honest people in DC.
