I believe that he was a Democrat before he founded LGF.

I think, to a large extent, Charles can be described as a Jewish Democrat who has gotten disturbed by the anti-Semitism in the current Democrat party, and is alarmed by radical Islam, yet retains his distaste for right-wingers and fundamentalist Christians.

This disdain for fundamentalist Christians makes the neo-con label even more plausible. Most are social liberals and very secular.

I popped over to the current LGF thread "Robert Spencer Confirmed to Attend Eurofascist Conference", where he goes on a rant about fascists in Europe (and it seems like anybody who writes in opposition to Islam these days is a fascist in the eyes of Charles Johnson).

Whenever LGF has one of these threads, if somebody comes out and says "Hey, Charles, who is going to be left if nobody lives up to your standards?", he goes on a rant and expels the evil-thinker. Click on the link and see what happens to "William_Ryan" when he dares criticize Johnson.

I used to like LGF, and felt it was a valuable resource for the Conservative cause, but the phenomenon I'm seeing is that LGF is feeding Johnson's increasingly narcissistic personality. He boots off anybody who challenges him, so that over time all he has is the chatty "amen choir". One thing that keeps the average person mentally healthy is that most of us have people in our lives who disagree with us occasionally, and let us know when we are full of it. One possible reason why so many "celebrities" get so crazy is they surround themselves with people who are only allowed to tell them how great they are.
