Ping!
You’re right about Oak Cliff. When we lived in DeSoto more than 10 years ago I hated driving thru Oak Cliff to get to Dallas. I always prayed I wouldn’t have car trouble.
And I have to toss out here, that anyone who uses illegal drugs shares culpability in this mess. I know some here think drugs should be legalized, but that’s a different issue. They are illegal now, and if you use, you are paying the salaries for people like this guy.
I am so glad to hear that. When we were there lots of Oak Cliff families were moving into DeSoto to get their kids out of the bad Oak Cliff schools. Sadly, they were bringing their gang banging behavior with them. I don’t know How DeSoto has fared, we left there in 95.
You’re right. And for some reason it doesn’t take a large number to create a bad atmosphere. And then it feeds on itself. The very worst nanny is the government.
At least W is back home to enjoy it.
I think there are still a lot of problems in the schools but there is a bright spot. One of the charter schools here is one of the top schools in the nation and I think it is a science school....I know in the area I live in most send their children to private school.
Glad there are at least bright spots. It’s hard to get my mind around an entire area being a horrible place to live in the US. I know that’s a pollyanna sort of thing to say, but it is one of the things that REALLY bother me.
