Not true. You might want to do a little more investigating of your friend. I think he is probably lying to you.
There is a 10-year rule for all those who have been in this country illegally. What it does it to prevent anyone illegal from becoming legal in our country. However, once they leave and return to their own country, they must wait 10 years to return legally.
