"Yeah, there has been chatter on the communist channels about a bailout, making “some” newspapers 501(c)(3) nonprofits, a government takeover, and the like."

Other than formal 501(c)(3) classification, it seems like this has already happened. They been unprofitably spouting the big-government official line for years. That's what's brought them to this point. They reap what they sow, and it serves them right.

"Hyeah, right. Let’s see here...come up with a national classified ad system to compete with a hugely successful one that has been doing it for years, has “brand” and instant name recognition, and costs...NOTHING. You’ll have to charge for yours, newspaper assclown, otherwise what’s the point?"

HA!!
Nice catch, NT. ;^)
Too giddy over finding their plan actually in print, I totally missed the un-logic of the moron's "vision".

"I see they don’t teach anything practical in J-school."

No, but they're about to get a real life lesson in macroeconomics. :o)

No wonder the sycophant quisling clowns are pushing socialism 24/7. They more than any other business know they cannot make it in a capitalistic system and surely not to bailout their miserable hides. ;^)

I smell another bailout, and we all know where that leads.

Yep, ZerØ takes control, and the NYT "offically" becomes the propaganda machine of the US gooberment. A new cabinet position: Ministry of Information.

Just what we need....taxpayer subsidized government newspapers. They wouldn’t even have to change their BO/Dem- loving editorial bias.
Shut these losers down and bolt the doors.

I’m going to miss all big newspapers, as the newsprint crowd go out of business. Investigative reporters are the heart and soul of a democracy, and I don’t know where we’re going to find replacements for those we are losing.

Obama is going to combine all of the failing MSM into a new Federal Department, The Ministry of Truth.
