Men like that need to give me some Basic Training when I have what I perceive to be a bad day!
Many years ago I knew a fellow who lost a leg in Vietnam, and who rode a bike across America.
Name Jim Penseyres. I rode with him a few times, in the mid-late 80s.
First he assisted his brother Pete, who won the race, and was not disabled.
Then Jim finished the race called Race Across America.

I saw that the MSM cut some of the Marathon coverage so not to include the hand cycles.
The local Connecticut station did show a glimpse and felt so very proud.
