See my post #104. :-)
Post 104: "I was speaking not of Israel the state, but Israel, the Chosen Ones of God.
In that case, we both agree. :-)
What I was objecting to was the attitude often seen on FR that urges:
"Hey, Bar Kochba! Hey, IDF! Do something militarily reeeeeeally dumb. Take on the might of the Roman Empire all by yourself. Carry out an extremely complex bombing campaign without calculating every possible risk or complication. Don't worry. Be happy. The earthly State of Israel can't possibly fail because God won't allow such a thing."
Such hubris has been, on more than one occasion, a recipe for disaster ...... literally of Biblical proportions.
As we both said, God's Covenant is with His Chosen People and not with the coalition government of an Olmert or a Netanyahu.
If Olmert screws up, as he did, the earthly State of Israel fails and God won't interfere with his stupidity.
It is that simple for this reason: Evil (as represented here by Iran) IS NEVER STATIC. It works toward it's ends 24/7. Iran is on record as hating Israel's very existence and has PROMISED to do something about it. Evil WILL scheme and plan to achieve it's STATED end (the destruction of Israel)as soon as it is possible to attain.
Your willful inability to define who, what, when, and where as you whip up a cloud of irrelevant and immaterial historical facts is a form of denial.
Support Israel or don't, that's it. That's the choice. Support a God-fearing state or the feral howling banshees that surround it--very simple here. But if you choose not to support Israel, then making believe you don't know who or what is a Jew and who or what God is talking about at any given point is going to put you in a very dark place (not to mention on the losing side).
Do you mind getting your get your head out of your arse? It is so far up there that you are not even addressing the point under discussion .
The point under discussion was HOW do we fix the current mess: By trusting in sound military preparations, planning and execution or by irrationally relying on an unbiblical doctrine of assumed invincibility provided by God.
You are still, like a drunk on a street corner who can't follow the discussion, blabbering about IF when the discussion is about HOW.
The point under discussion is addressed in Post 104 by pillut48 and by me in Post 122.
The point under discussion is that blind faith in the unbiblical doctrine that God protects earthly, political Jewish States from getting wiped out is no substitute for sound military planning, risk assessment and execution by the IDF.
Everything else you are bloviating about is a non sequitur to the point under discussion before you jumped in.
If Israel was going to hit Iran, Iran should have been hit by Israel when George W. Bush was in office and the U.S. should have actively participated. Olmert and Bush failed to do so and we now have Barack Obama as Commander-in-Chief. Now, somehow or other, Israel is going to have to get Obama to help in getting this military mission accomplished because military logistics make it almost impossible for Israel to successfully accomplish the task without active U.S. help.
It was STUPIDITY to let the Iran problem get to this point, and, as both the Bible and History show, God does not automatically give earthly, political States of Israel a stone tablet inscribed: "Don't worry. Be militarily stupid. God will always bring you battlefield success no matter."
